Chapter 11: "Uncovering the Past"
Abisai's world was turned upside down as he struggled to come to terms with the revelation that Basil was his older brother. The room spun around him, and his mind reeled with questions. "How can this be?" he asked, his voice shaking with emotion.
Catherine and Lily shared the story of how Abisai came to be part of their family, and the circumstances surrounding his adoption. But Abisai's mind was racing with more questions. "I'm from outer space? What about my biological parents? Why did they give me up?"
Basil took a deep breath before revealing the truth. "I know it's hard to take in, trust me when I say that you're not an Earthling. You're a Perdolian, like me. You come from the planet Haven. Our parents are Perdolians as well; our mother is a sorceress, and our father is a knight."
Abisai's eyes widened in shock, his thoughts tangled in a web of confusion and conflicting emotions. He looked at Basil, trying to reconcile the brother he thought he knew with the stranger standing before him.
Amelia took his arm, her touch warm and reassuring. "I don't care where you're from, Abisai. You're still the same person I care about."
Basil continued, explaining his motivations and the challenges he faced growing up as the older brother. "I wanted to prepare you for the responsibilities and dangers that come with our family's legacy. There are others like us on Earth, at least five, including myself. Their names are Sirius, Mida, Tony, Austria, and Kaisan."
Abisai's mind was racing. "What do you mean? What's our mission?"
Basil showed Abisai the arm link, a device that revealed their true potential as Haven Knights. Abisai's arm link displayed a dark black wing and a golden greenish katana sword. "This is my armor link," Abisai exclaimed.
Basil also showed him another sword from the mystic forest, a forbidden area. "This is the sword of our ancestors," Basil said.
Jak and Melissa asked Basil why he was back after 5 years. Basil repeated himself, "I came to take my younger brother, Abisai, for training to prepare him for the upcoming war."
Everyone gasped at the revelation. Catherine asked, "What war?"
Basil's expression turned grave. "The Calamity War against the Dark Haven Empire. They seek to destroy any planet that involves Perdolians like ourselves. We must be prepared to defend ourselves."
Abisai felt his world expanding, his purpose clear. He was a Perdolian, a Haven Knight, and he would do everything in his power to protect his family and his people.
"How long will they get here, and how much time do we have before they arrive?" Abisai asked, his voice laced with concern.
Basil responded, "I do not know, perhaps five or six years to get to your planet."
Professor Green, who had been listening to the conversation, spoke up. "You mean to tell me that the armor links scattered around the world, the ones your people scattered, are also around these parts?"
Basil nodded. "It is a possibility. Why?"
Professor Green's eyes lit up with excitement. "I think we might have found an armor link related to your younger brother. We found it in the lost city of Atlantis. I was able to confiscate it from the Atlanteans, who believed it was theirs."
Basil's eyes narrowed. "Where is it?"
Professor Green hesitated. "It's in the museum in Starfall City, along with the sword and the gauntlet."
Basil's body tensed, his voice barely above a whisper. "The sword of Orion."
Suddenly, he stood up from his chair, his eyes burning with determination. "We must retrieve the artifact immediately."
