Chapter 31: A Hidden Agenda

Chapter 31: A Hidden Agenda

Abisai gripped the handles of his motorbike, the powerful engine roaring beneath him. Amelia adjusted her helmet, a furrow of concern etching into her brow. “Do you think things will turn back to normal?” she asked, her voice barely carrying above the engine's growl.

Abisai’s gaze remained fixed on the horizon. “I don’t know. We’ll just have to find out.”

As they sped away from the ruins of their recent battles, dusk settled around them, transforming the world into hues of fiery orange and deep violet. Amelia’s thoughts drifted towards the fate of their allies and the coming challenges. Little did they realize that their struggles below were dwarfed by celestial events unfolding far above.

In a transcendent courtroom suspended among the stars, the nine emperors of Calamity gathered in fierce deliberation. Tellez, the imposing Emperor of Calamity, stood resolute at the front. “We have been summoned by the Orb of Summoning to choose one among us to descend upon Earth, tasked with creating a new world for our kind.”

As Tellez’s words lingered in the air, a tense silence enveloped the room. Finally, Infinite, the Emperor of Gemini Epyon, broke the stillness. “I will go. My powers of calamity are unmatched, and I’m confident in my ability to dominate the terrain.”

Before Infinite could elaborate, the Orb of Summoning glowed, its voice vibrant yet ominous. “The choice has been made. Galadriel, Gia of Nature Epsilon, has been chosen to descend upon Earth.”

Chaos erupted as the emperors debated. Tellez’s eyes narrowed, fixing on Galadriel. “Galadriel, you have been selected. Do not fail us.”

With the meeting concluding, Galadriel's heart raced with a mix of exhilaration and dread as he prepared to embark on his daunting mission.

Back on Earth, Abisai and Amelia pulled their motorbike into the driveway of Eliza’s residence. However, an unsettling atmosphere settled around them, as if they were not alone. The moment they dismounted, they felt the earth pulse with energy.

“Did you feel that?” Amelia whispered, her instincts on high alert.

Before Abisai could respond, dark tendrils of vine slithered out from the nearby woods, advancing toward them. He instinctively drew Orion, his sword, ready to confront this unexpected threat. “Who are you? Show yourself!” he commanded, voice steady despite his rising apprehension.

From the shadows, a figure emerged, cloaked in an aura of ancient power. It was Galadriel, one of the fabled elite warriors from the ancient elven lineage.

Abisai’s eyes narrowed, confusion brewing in them. “Why are you here? Why attack us?”

Galadriel’s expression was unreadable, but he revealed a mark burned into his arm—the unmistakable insignia of the Emperor of Calamity. “I’m here to claim the armor of Orion,” he declared, eyes locked on Abisai, unwavering.

“What makes you think you can take it?” Abisai’s voice was firm, yet he felt an unsettling shiver run down his spine.

“Listen closely,” Galadriel replied, his tone unyielding. “If you come willingly and surrender Orion, the Emperor may spare this planet’s fate. Otherwise, you’ll find the wrath of Calamity to be more than you can handle.”

Amelia stepped forward, bravely confronting the ancient warrior. “We’ve fought too hard to let your kind take over. You don’t know us.”

Galadriel regarded her, a hint of intrigue in his eyes. “Your tenacity is admirable, but misguided. This isn’t a choice; it’s an ultimatum.”
