*Chapter 42: The True Awakening*

Inside the Silence

In the sterile glow of the hospital room, the soft beeping of machines filled the air with an unnerving rhythm. The four friends stood vigil around Abisai's bed, their faces a tapestry of concern woven with threads of fear. His body lay still, every inch of him connected to monitors-digits flickering, a heart that fought to maintain its steady beat.

Catherine, Abisai's adopted mother, clutched a crumpled tissue in her hands, her eyes glistening. "What's going on in his head?" she asked Sage Lysandra, a woman draped in flowing robes, her presence serene amidst the chaos.

Sage offered a small, reassuring smile. "Only time will tell," she said, her voice soft yet resolute. "But I can assure you, he's very much alive. He's fighting to come back to us."

Amelia stepped forward, her determination illuminating her otherwise somber features. "I need to do something. If I can't heal him from the outside," she declared, locking her gaze on Abisai's still form, "perhaps I can guide him from the inside."

Tony crossed his arms, frustration igniting his already volatile expression. "I hope you know what you're doing, Amelia. If we can't find a way to break the coma, we'll have to use the Echo of Eternity device."

Ashley's reaction was immediate, and her voice was like a thunderclap in the quiet room. "Out of the question! We promised Abisai we'd use it for Nova, not him!"

"Nova's in another dimension," Tony countered, his voice raw with anguish. "What will happen to Abisai if we wait? I know what I'd have to do if I use it on him, and I don't care if he hates me for it. He's our friend, our leader. He wouldn't want us to-"

Mida's eyes flashed with determination. "Listen, Tony. You will not use that device on him. This is our only chance to awaken his mother. If I have to punch you to make sure you don't use it, I will."

Tony glared back, clutching the sleek, metallic device that hummed with a low frequency. "Mida, you don't understand. This isn't about what you want. It's about saving Abisai. That machine can stimulate his neural pathways and-"

"-and put him into a deeper state of sleep," Mida interrupted, her fists clenched. "You want to bring back some ghost of a boy who is already lost in the void."

"Enough!" Amelia shouted, breaking the tension. She had been silent until now, focused entirely on Abisai, who lay unconscious on the medical table, connected to a web of monitors and wires. "We're running out of time. If we don't act soon, we'll lose him for good."

Tony's eyes softened as he glanced at Abisai. "And what if Amelia's method doesn't work? We can't just sit here and do nothing."

Amelia placed her hands on Abisai's head, her eyes closed in concentration. "Abisai, can you hear me? Please, hear my voice. Come back to me."

As the debate raged on, the room fell into a tense silence. The monitors began to pulse in rhythm with Abisai's faint vitals.

"Whatever you're doing, Amelia, it's stabilizing his vitals. Keep talking to him," Tony said, his surprise evident as he shifted his focus back to the screens.

Amelia's voice poured out like a gentle stream, weaving memories through the air. "Remember the first time we met after five years? I never knew you'd become so special to me. I want us to cherish every moment together."

Mida watched in awe as Tony's expression shifted, everything else seeming to fade away. "What... what are you doing, Amelia?" he asked, his earlier bravado fading.
