Basil's eyes fluttered open, the canopy above him alive with swaying branches and the soft hum of the mystical forest. Sunlight filtered through ancient trees, painting the forest floor in dancing patterns of gold and green. Every breath he took was laced with the scent of moss and blooming herbs.
He tried to sit up, wincing as pain lanced through his side. The memory of Omega Dragoon's blast returned in a rush of heat and sound. Gritting his teeth, he forced his gaze forward-and froze.
Standing just a few paces away was Black Rose, one of Dark Haven's elite guards.
But something was different.
Her eyes, once a fierce crimson, now shimmered with a cold, mechanical light. The warmth he remembered was gone-replaced by the eerie stillness of a machine.

> "Analyzing... analyzing. Mission objective... unknown," she responded, her tone clinical.
Basil raised an eyebrow. "You're a real fish out of water, aren't you?"
> "Classification confirmed: fish out of water... subject: you," she replied without blinking.
Despite the tension, Basil let out a strained chuckle. "Not quite. I meant you."
> "Requesting designation."
> "Can't do anything without someone telling you what to do, huh?" he muttered. "What did the Empire call you?"
