Redemption at Dawn: Chapter 17 - Unexpected Reunions*

Basil rode his motorbike into Starfall City, the wind whipping his hair into a frenzy as he reflected on his victory over Kaisan. The Sacred Mountains faded into the distance, their secrets and mysteries lingering in his mind.

Meanwhile, in a dark, forsaken alley, Angel and Omega Dragoon stood before Embryo, second-in-command to the Emperor of Calamity. The air reeked of decay.

Embryo's piercing gaze settled on the duo. "What urgent information brings you to this manner?"

Angel hesitated. "We've found the remaining Perdolians. They're here, on Earth."

Embryo's expression remained unchanged. "We already knew that. Why else did we send ships to that location? But did you find the hidden base?"

Angel's voice dropped. "Unfortunately, no. We found one Perdolian, but not the base."

Embryo's eyes narrowed. "And what of Black Rose, your third subordinate?"

Angel's face fell. "She was killed in action. Malfunctioning."

Suddenly, Emperor Tellez's voice boomed from the holographic communicator.

"Keep looking, you big idiots!" he bellowed.

Embryo's gaze flashed toward the communicator. "My Emperor-"

Tellez cut her off. "Don't call me unless you find me the Book and the Base. Understand?"

The communication cut off abruptly.

Embryo turned to Angel. "Are you sure it's wise to provoke him, my Emperor?"

Tellez's voice echoed once more.

"Wisdom is for the weak. Power is all that matters."

As Basil entered Starfall City, he noticed the remnants of destruction. Buildings stood in various stages of repair, a testament to the chaos Angel and Omega Dragoon had unleashed.

The duo had vanished, leaving no trail.

Basil parked his motorbike and walked toward the cozy café where Melissa and Jack worked. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air.

As he pushed open the door, a chorus of "Surprise!" filled the room. Jack, Melissa, Catherine, Lily, Professor Green, Eliza and her child, Luna, beamed at him.

Basil's eyes widened. "What's going on?"

Melissa rushed to hug him. "We heard about your victory! We're celebrating!"

Catherine smiled. "And we've missed you!"

Lily handed Basil a cup of coffee. "We thought you deserved a break."

Professor Green chuckled. "Besides, we've made progress decoding the ancient texts."

Eliza smiled, Luna giggling in her arms. "We're glad you're home safe."

Basil's heart swelled with gratitude.

As they shared stories and laughter, Basil felt a sense of belonging. But amidst the joy, his mind drifted to the mysterious forces lurking in the shadows.

Embryo's words echoed: "The fate of Earth, and the Perdolians' secrets, hang in the balance."

Basil knew his respite was temporary. The battle for Earth's future loomed.

The evening wore on, filled with warmth and camaraderie. Basil sav savored each moment.

In the shadows, Angel and Omega Dragoon watched.
