Chapter 54 - Lyran's Secret Past
The chamber seemed to hold its breath, the flickering torchlight casting elongated shadows on the walls. The faint hum of Lyran's harp vibrated through the air, a subtle warning of the power she held within her fingers. Sirius stepped forward, his black-and-orange armor gleaming even in the dim light, eyes locked on Lyran with unwavering resolve.
"I'll be your next opponent," Sirius declared, voice calm but edged with steel.
Lyran tilted her head, a faint smirk curling her lips. "Hmph... you flatter yourself," she said coolly. "It's useless. Your powers cannot compare to mine. I am the Empress of the Morning and Evening Star. My Requiem will tear you apart before you even know what hit you."
Ashley's grip on her Vine whips tightened, stepping slightly in front of Ronan. "Hold on a minute," she interjected firmly. "This is my battle, remember? Before any of you try to-"
Sirius lifted a hand, cutting her off gently, though his gaze softened for a brief moment as it flicked to Ronan. "Listen," he said, voice steady. "You have that child with you. As long as he's here, you cannot add me to your battle. Besides... I owe her a rematch. I want to see what she's truly like in combat."
Before Lyran could respond, shadows writhed along the floor and walls. Sirius moved with fluid precision, and in an instant, dozens of shadowy clones erupted around him, each wielding an array of ninja weapons-kunai, shurikens, chained sickles-twirling and slicing through the dim light.
"Prepare yourself," he said, his voice carrying over the cacophony of moving shadows. "Say your prayers, Empress of the Morning and Evening Star."
Lyran's eyes narrowed, a faint glow rising within them. "Very well," she said, her tone calm yet commanding. Her fingers flew across the harp strings with uncanny grace, notes ringing like sharpened steel. The melody she wove reminded Ashley of Mimi's Requiem-haunting, mesmerizing, and alive.
But this was no ordinary music. As Lyran's fingers danced, silvery threads of light began to extend from her hands, twisting and weaving in midair. They multiplied, forming streams of luminous energy that coiled, split, and reformed into radiant patterns. Each string pulsed with power, vibrating in harmony with her will, bending the very air around them.
Ashley's eyes widened. "She's... she's controlling it mentally?" she muttered under her breath, a mix of awe and apprehension.
Ronan clung to Ashley, his eyes reflecting both fear and wonder as Lyran's Requiem threads began to move like living rivers of light, reaching for the shadow clones, cutting and binding them with precision that bordered on supernatural.
Sirius grinned, undeterred, his clones striking from every angle, but even he could not hide the faint tension in his stance. He recognized the lethal beauty of Lyran's power-the Requiem was not just a weapon, it was an extension of her mind, her heart, and her secret past.
The chamber seemed to shimmer under the clash of shadow and light, a storm of magical energy and raw skill, as past and present collided, and the Empress prepared to reveal the full depth of her secret power.

The battlefield trembled under the clash of power. Sirius had summoned one of his shadow clones-a beastly technique originally inherited from the Emperor of the Shadow Wolf-designed to break an opponent's senses. Yet Lyran's eyes blazed with both defiance and disdain.
"You dare use your petty shadow trick against me? Stream of Requiem!" she spat, her voice sharp as steel.
But Sirius had already anticipated her reaction. "It's just a distraction. Take this-Red Eyes Beam, Scorpio!"
