I plopped the burned bread off the toaster and quickly dropped it right onto the trash. Making toast really wasn't my forte. It either ended up burning or under toasted. I quite didn't understand how I could cook other huge meals but just not toast, the littlest thing ever. I was convinced bread did not like me.
"Smells like burnt rolls!" My mom came in frantically, looking for her keys, and my dad following suit, literally doing the same thing. It was the same thing every morning. They ended up loosing their keys even if they always placed them in the same place.
"They are on top of the fruit on basket." I said, grabbing the ingredients for a parfait.
"Right!" Mom and dad said at the same time and I smiled at their lack of memory. They were very similar in so many aspects, not only do they say things together all the time but they also work in the same fields. Surprising? Not as much. They both are dentists. A child's worst nightmare? Absolutely. That was the only thing I didn't like from them either. The props of having two dentist parents is that I have amazing shiny sparkling teeth than anyone in the world. Well, not literally but half true. The only reason they work on the same field is only because they met at college. Obviously with the same goals of becoming a dentist. The only thing they didn't have in common was that they didn't work at the same facility.
"Ok, honey, we are out." Dad barely took a sip of his coffee before he gave me a kiss in the forehead and was already out the door.
"We love you, Heidi. Remember don't forget to let us know if you're going anywhere with Braylee. Keep us posted ASAP, please." she said, giving me a quick hug.
"Of course, of course. Always do." I said finally and she blew me a kiss before leaving out the door after my dad.
After making the rest of my parfait I prayed, and ate while watching a sermon on YouTube from my favorite pastor. He was legitimately the best preacher on world history. He held so much passion for sharing the word and getting into peoples hearts to desire for Jesus' peace. The salvation and love you will gain from being a follower of Christ, he described with so much accuracy. The first thing I turned on when feeling down was one of these sermons or went out to the little want-to-be garden of flowers I had outside.
It was approximately seven o'clock with six minutes when I finished breakfast and decided to go outside and water the beautiful grown out roses in the front before going on my daily walk to reflect on my goals for the day. I loved doing this always before Braylee got here to pick me up for school. It helped set my mind straight and lay my plans down to the one who are already has a plan for me in the day. Aside from that it was also a peaceful time to spend, watching and feeling the silence of the morning.
I was nearing the end of my walk when I noticed that Holden's dad was getting ready to leave, for what I assumed was work. He looked to not care what he was wearing because all he wore was a simple shirt and light washed jeans. I'd noticed that all Holden wore too was a simple black shirt and dark jeans. Like father like son, I thought.
