"That was not nice, dad." I raised a brow and crossed my arms above my chest.

Dad mimicked my movements and my mom, behind him, rolled her eyes at his actions. "I was doing you a favor, Heather. Come on. You have to admit it, honey." My dad uncrossed his arms and went to grab a soda from the fridge. It was crazy how much soda he consumed in one full day. I didn't understood how he didn't get tired of it. Soda was disgusting. Too sweet for my liking.

"You did say, Heidi. That you wanted to learn already." Mom shrugged a shoulder when I gave her a look. So much for defending me.

"Ugh, I can't with the both of you." I rolled my eyes, going around my dad to grab a water bottle from the fridge. As I passed him again with my water in hand I smiled sarcastically waving the water in front of him. With a look that shouted 'this is what you should be drinking' .

"Hey! Don't start with the soda thing, please!" He groaned. "I've heard enough nagging from your mom already." With a crack of his soda he opened and sipped on the rim of the can.

"Have you at least drank water today?" My mom asked as she flipped over the mail in the table.

"Yes, about four water bottles, and this is only my second can of soda today. As you can see I'm trying to not drink so many," he admitted, shaking his head in annoyance as he sat in the seat across from my mom, looking over the mail my mom put to the side. I was surprised at the amount. Usually, in an ordinary day he would drink about four cans of that thing. It was seriously concerning.

"Great to hear," Mom muttered.

I sighed, going to lean against the counter as I watched them converse. I had told my mom today about the cute date Holden had planned out for us and she was thrilled to hear about it. Just speaking of it with her made me relive the whole moment all over again. It was everything and so much more. Literally so much more. We couldn't have ended our night more perfectly than we did. We'd felt so much. He felt so much for the first time and I was still so happy that he had felt the delightfulness of it all.

I didn't go as far as to mention any of it to my mom today. I felt it was something that should be kept between Holden and I.

I was still in amazement of it all.

My dad raised his eyes over to me as I remained beside the counter. "Your not still bothered about the driving lesson, are you?"

I laughed. "No, dad. Just thinking." I dismissed his suspicion and took a sip of my water.

My dad looked at me suspiciously and then turned his attention back to the mail in hand. "How did it go anyway?" he asked.

"Don't even ask. It was terrifying at first." I shook my head at the reminder of Holden's stunt he pulled. Well, it was probably a stunt I mostly started, but still. "I was scared to even jump on Holden's truck and next thing you know he was carrying me right onto the seat. With me waggling my body to get off him and everything." My mom at the revealed news, looked away from the papers in her hand and then started laughing.
