It was two months today that Holden and I have been together. I never thought to have celebrated our first month, so that is why I took my opportunity to celebrate our two month anniversary. It was my chance to do something out of the love of my heart. I finally had an excuse to do something for him.

The past days couldn't have been better. We had spent countless of nights together reading our bibles, studying, speaking of our thoughts over certain pieces of scripture. It was a little easier that we were in the same book of all the Bible. Although, Holden sometimes did surpass me by a few chapters. I had to force him to pause and let me catch up. It was shocking how quick he could read a chapter and at the same time write notes on the margins and highlight certain pieces. Me on the other hand, had to take my precious time.

I think Sundays were my favorite because of course, Holden was part of the church clan now. Perhaps, church clan wasn't that good of a nickname but what I was trying to say is that he was now part of something great. Something very beautiful. Constantly, we made it a thing to go somewhere after for lunch. Just last week on Sunday we had our parents tagalong. My dad sort of invited himself. I didn't mind it, but it surprised me to see the annoying side of dad. He was actually very...intrusive. If that was even the correct word to use.

I was fixing up the final touches to my box when my mom came barging in to my room.

"Holden is here, Heidi." Mom announced and I looked back down at the box in my bed.

I was satisfied with it. It looked like the just the perfect box for Holden. It only consisted of a few things but those simple things were just as sufficient. At least I hoped they were. It was the thought that counted. It consisted of random snacks, mostly salty rather than sweet considering he wasn't a fan of sweets. I ended buying him two classic books in which I hoped he didn't own already. I would be disappointed if that were the case. At the very bottom of the black box was something else that meant all the much from everything on the box. I was dying to see his reaction at the whole box. For the life of me, I tried my hardest to make it look as manly as possible. And proud I was to say I had succeeded.

"Ok, I'll be down." I said.

"Don't keep the man waiting. And be careful tonight. We will be back just before nine." My mom warned in her best stern voice. Surprisingly dad and her decided last minute to go out for dinner tonight. I was actually glad that they'd decided to. They haven't went in a date in a good while. It was actually getting concerning how long it's been. The last time was probably about three months ago.

"Ok, mom." I sighed, watching as she smiled over at me and blew a kiss, puckering her red lips in the process. "You look nice, mom." I raised a brow, just noticing her long black dress. She waved a hand as if dismissing me and then shut the door.

Breathing out a silent laugh, I looked back down at the nice coordinated basket then finally after a second got the guts to go down the stairs.

I started walking slowly down the stairs then realizing the box was still in sight, paused and then rearranged the box behind my back, out of his sight. "I'm going to have you shut your eyes!" I ordered, making my final steps down the stairs.
