𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐃 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐓 that they now had a variety of different classes they could take. Dakota had chosen to study Divination and Care of Magical Creatures along with her friends.

After breakfast she waved goodbye to Tracey and Lyra – both of whom weren't taking Divination – and walked with the others to the North Tower. She sat down at a table with Hermione and Aliyah, or at least, she thought she had. She frowned when she realized that they weren't there. She could've sworn they were right behind her.

She shrugged it off, assuming that they probably stopped by the lavatory.

"Welcome, my children," their professor greeted them in a low, mysterious voice. She was a woman with large glasses and voluminous blonde curls. "In this room, you shall explore the noble art of Divination. In this room, you shall discover if you possess the Sight." She bumped into a table when she stood up from her chair. A few students giggled. "Hello. I am Professor Trelawney. Together, we shall cast ourselves into the future! This term, we shall be focusing on tasseomancy, which is the art of reading tea leaves. So please, take the cup of the person sitting opposite you."

Dakota kept her own cup seeing as she didn't have anyone to trade with. She glanced at her tea leaves, but she couldn't make out what they were supposed to be telling her. It just looked like a big blob to her.

"What do you see? The truth lies buried like a sentence deep within a book waiting to be read. But first, you must broaden your minds. First, you must look beyond!" Trelawney waved her hand dramatically.

"What a load of rubbish."

"I think it's fascinating."

Dakota jumped when Hermione and Aliyah showed up on either side of her. She stared between the two, gaping at them. "Where'd you two come from?"

"Us?" Hermione frowned, tucking her gold necklace into her robe. "We've been here all this time."

"No, you haven't," Dakota said. "Neither of you were here five seconds ago, but now you're here. I-It doesn't make any sense."

"When was the last time you got your eyes checked, Kody?" Aliyah asked. "Maybe you need glasses."

Dakota frowned. She'd known Aliyah for a long time, and she'd never would've guessed her to be the gaslighting type, nor would she have guessed the same for Hermione.

"You, boy." Trelawney pointed at Neville, who jumped a little in fright at being singled out. "Is your grandmother quite well?"

"I-I think so," Neville replied uncertainly.
