the triwizard tournament

"𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐘?" the trolley witch called as she walked down the narrow corridor of the Hogwarts Express. "Anything from the trolley?"

Hermione put down the latest issue of the Daily Prophet, a deep crease between her brows. Hearing the trolley witch's voice, Dakota lifted her head up off of the brunette's shoulder, rummaging around in her pocket for any leftover school supply money.

"Anything from the trolley, dears?" the witch asked as she stopped outside their compartment.

"Packet of Drooble's and a. . .licorice wand," Ron said as he got up. He glanced down at the money in his hand before adding, "On second thought, just the Drooble's."

Lyra took a few Sickles out of her coin bag, purchasing three each of chocolate frogs and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, as well as one licorice wand, which she gave to Ron before splitting the other sweets up between her, Aliyah, and Dakota.

"Anything sweet for you, dear?" the trolley witch asked Harry, who was staring at Cho Chang, a Ravenclaw girl in the year above them.

"Oh, no, I'm not hungry," Harry said, shaking himself out of it. "Thank you." He took one last look down the corridor at Cho before sitting back down.

Dakota tossed a bean at him, and it hit his shoulder. "You can't just stand there and gawk at her, hairball," she stated with a teasing smirk. "She's a lady."

"This is horrible," Hermione said, staring at the newspaper. "How can the Ministry not not know who conjured it? Wasn't there any security, or. . . ?"

"Loads, according to Dad," Ron said, taking a bite out of the licorice wand. "That's what worries them so much. Happened right under their noses. Lyra, you must kno— Ow!"

Dakota had elbowed him roughly in the ribs. She shook her head with a glare.

"It's hurting again, isn't it?" Aliyah asked Harry, who was rubbing his forehead. "Your scar."

Harry shook his head with a small shrug. "I'm fine."

Hermione leaned forward, a stern look on her face. "You know Sirius will want to hear about this. What you saw at the World Cup and the dream."

Harry knew that she was right. He got to work writing a letter explaining the dream he had before the World Cup and the Death Eater attack. He addressed it to Sirius and gave Hedwig the envelope, letting her fly out the open window of the Hogwarts Express to deliver it.

"Well, now we're all settled in and sorted, I'd like to make an announcement," Dumbledore said as he stood at the podium. Dakota had her box of Every Flavour Beans hidden in her lap, which she was sharing with Tracey Davis while they waited for the feast to begin. "This castle will not only be your home this year, but home to some very special guests as well."
