𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐘'𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋, and he was on his way back to Hogwarts for his 5th year with his friends. Ron, Hermione, Dakota, and Lyra had each been chosen as their house prefects, so they spent the first half of the train ride getting instructions from the head boy and girl – Hadley Weasley and Cedric Diggory.
Ophelia didn't understand how Hadley had been made head girl when she was so immature at times, but she was happy for her girlfriend nonetheless.
Dakota was disappointed when she found out that the boy prefect for Slytherin was Draco Malfoy, who also wasn't thrilled about the idea of having to work with her. They had both decided to dedicate their lives to making the other miserable, and if it hadn't been for Lyra, the two probably would've killed each other right there in the prefects' carriage.
When they arrived at the school, Draco continued his annual back-to-school tradition of teasing Harry.
"I'm surprised the Ministry is still letting you walk around free, Pottah," he taunted as he passed them on the train platform with his cronies, Crabbe and Goyle. "You better enjoy it while you can. I expect there's a cell in Azkaban with your name on it."
Harry lunged at him, but Hermione and Dakota quickly grabbed him. Draco said loudly to Crabbe and Goyle that Harry was a complete nutter. "Just stay away from me!" he shouted.
"It's only Malfoy," Ron said. "What do you expect?"
The six friends walked to the self pulling carriages that brought them up to the school each year. There was only one left, and it was already occupied by a girl with long platinum blonde hair.
"Hi, guys," Neville said as he walked up beside Lyra, a potted plant in his arm.
"Hi, Neville," they replied, each of them wondering how in the world all eight of them were going to fit in one carriage.
Aliyah, Lyra, and Dakota got in first, the Ravenclaw girl pulling her petite best friend into her lap. She hugged her waist and brushed her nose against her cheek playfully, making Lyra giggle and blush. The three boys sat across from them, and Hermione sat down in the space next to Dakota. It was a tight fit, but they managed to make it work.
The blonde girl looked around at all of them with wide, misty blue eyes. Aliyah introduced her as Luna Lovegood. She was a Ravenclaw in the year below her.
"What an interesting necklace," Hermione said, eyeing the butterbeer cork around Luna's neck.
"It's a charm, actually," Luna kindly corrected. "Keeps away the Nargles." The Gryffindors exchanged looks. "Hungry. . .I hope there's pudding."
