CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE the dark lord
── •✧• ──
𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐘𝐄, it was time for the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament. But something was wrong. Just like with the second task, Dakota wasn't present. The only difference this time was that she hadn't been taken for the sake of the challenge. It's like she had just vanished.
But Harry couldn't worry about that now. He had a task to survive.
Since they were tied for first place, he and Ophelia were allowed to enter the giant labyrinth that had been set up together. The Triwizard Cup was hidden somewhere inside, and all they had to do was fight off whatever obstacles they came across, reach the cup, and end the tournament.
After some time, he could see the glowing blue cup. He began to run towards it, but Ophelia suddenly appeared, shouting for Harry to get down as a bewitched Krum charged towards them. She blasted a body-bind spell at the Durmstrang boy, knocking him off his feet and making it to where he couldn't move. She snatched his wand, panting as she stared down at him.
"H-He's gonna be okay, right?" Harry asked with uncertainty as he looked down at him.
Ophelia nodded and ran a hand through her short hair. "Yeah. But I don't want to be around when that spell breaks." She patted his shoulder. "Come on. Let's end this."
They ran towards the cup, but vines sprang out from the hedges and wrapped around Ophelia, who screamed as they tightened around her. She struggled to break free, calling out Harry's name for assistance. The younger boy hesitated a moment. He looked between the cup and the terrified look on the older girl's face.
"Reducto!" Harry shouted, and a spell shot out of his wand, blasting the vines. He rushed over to Ophelia and untangled her, both of them breathing heavily.
"Thanks." Ophelia gasped for air as Harry helped her up.
"No problem," Harry replied.
Ophelia glanced towards the Triwizard Cup just several feet away before looking back to Harry. "Some game, huh?"
"Some game," Harry agreed.
A heavy wind began to blow, and the two teens sprinted to the cup. They both hesitated when they reached it.
"Take it!" Ophelia shouted over the noise. "You saved me, Harry, take it!"
"But you saved me, too!" Harry argued. "You take it! Besides, you were the original champion in the first place. You deserve it more than I do!"
"But you fought your way through this tournament against all odds, Harry!" Ophelia stated. "You take it. You've earned it." She smiled softly at him and backed away, nodding that it was okay.
