-THURSDAY, JANUARY 19TH, 2023.-

Jack tossed and turned in his bed, thoughts racing after a long day of school and a tiring test. Exhaustion finally took over, and he drifted off to sleep, fully clothed. Several hours later, he stirred awake. The clock on his nightstand read 1 AM. He reached over, unplugging his phone next to his bed. His fingers hovered over the screen, debating whether to text Noelle this late, as he then decides to do it and unplugs his phone from his nightstand, already being fully clothed even with socks on and wearing his bedtime slippers. Noelle smiled, breaking the momentary silence.

Noelle- "Guys, this is Jack, Jack, this is Kris and Berdly."

Jack stood there awkwardly, feeling the weight of their gazes. Kris and Berdly, who had never met him before even though they all went to the same school, now scrutinized him silently. Berdly's smirk faltered as he realized his comment was out of line. Kris stopped chuckling, focusing now on Noelle. Susie, still grinning, turned her attention to Noelle as well. Noelle suggested doing something together now that Jack had arrived. The trio began to argue about what to do, their voices rising in a chaotic debate. Noelle cut in, suggesting the game of 'truth or dare.' Everyone agreed, their faces now determined. Jack and Noelle settled on the floor, waiting for the game to begin.

Susie proposed a solution.

"Let's do a 'not it,'" she suggested. "Last one with their hand up goes first." Everyone understood the game. Each of them raised a hand, except Jack. He looked around awkwardly, realizing that he had been chosen first. Jack swallowed hard, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He glanced down, then forced himself to look back up.

"Dare," he whispered, his voice barely above a whisper.

Susie's grin widened. She knew she had a chance to make him do something embarrassing or risky.

Susie- "I dare you... to go outside... and steal something... from one of the neighbors' porches."

Panic washed over Jack as he heard Susie's dare. But the thrill of the challenge pushed him forward. They all sneaked over to Sans and Papyrus' home, avoiding the neighbor's ring doorbell. They passed by without being caught on camera. Noelle glanced anxiously, expressing her reservations. Jack approached Papyrus' porch, the small box in sight. He hesitated, torn between excitement and guilt. Susie encouraged him, her voice firm. "Just do it already," she urged. Kris discreetly recorded the whole ordeal on their phone, a sly grin on their face. Once Jack had snatched the package, they stopped recording. The group quickly returned to the house, the clock showing 2:15 AM. They were relieved to have gotten away with it. Toriel, unbelievably, was still asleep despite the racket they made. Jack hastily removed his shoes, as did the others. Susie was the lone exception, keeping her boots on. They settled back inside, Jack, Noelle, and Berdly taking their usual spots on the floor. Kris and Susie relaxed on the couch and recliner. Jack set the Dino strainers aside, and a keychain fell out of the package with its plastic wrapping. He showed the others the strainers, their faces expressing slight disappointment. Susie rolled her eyes. "Lame," she muttered. Everyone nodded in agreement, sharing a collective feeling of anticlimax. The small plastic keychain sat there, adding insult to injury. Jack looked at the clock on his phone. It was 3 AM. School started in just five hours. Time to call it a night. He bid farewell to the gang, grabbing his phone and heading for the door. The others followed suit, packing up their things. They didn't want to risk their parents finding out about their late-night escapade. Kris was left alone in the house, sitting on the couch with the light still on. The package sat forgotten on the living room floor as Kris slowly dozed off.
