Chapter 32: Douglas drops the case

-TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH, 2023.-

So you know, it's crazy right, I didn't think after only two days this entire "Berdly Murder/Disappearance" case on me would be over, but apparently, Douglas P.I, the ONLY person in the world who was actually on to me dropped the case, and he literally announced it to me as I was about to walk in my home, Risk taking the day off school due to a cold as I got off school and saw him walk up to his door opening it as I did mine too, he lived right next to me and as I looked at him, realizing who it was, he looked back at me, and said, as I was begging to get in from the cold but at least clear 26 degree weather, as I was just listening to him because I wanted to leave to go back into the comfort of my own home:

"Oh uh.... hey Jack, it's, quite ironic I'm seeing you but I just wanted to say I uh.... figured there's not much leads to tie you to the case so...... if anything, I'd assume my work here is done."

Then, right after that, he left and shut his door going inside the apartment he lived at next to me. I was so confused here, only TWO days into investigation and Douglas already had decided to drop the case?! Something was definitely off, but at least I wasn't under his radar anymore, and I know that, despite Berdly being the third person I killed, Berdly was the CLOSEST person to me I've killed despite how much I hated him, and on top of that he was my first lightener victim. You'd think the cops would be on to me by now but no.... nothing. Not a single cop car to show up at my house, and of course Douglas didn't report me to the police due to the lack of evidence he had on me. I'd assume that, I'd stop killing after this point, for now that is...... I shook my head, and then went inside.
