Chapter 150: Beef Rendang

-WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2023-
So although Hometown has been completely destroyed, with the school still being closed but somehow in tact with our apartment's including Susie's being okay as well, SOME, but not all of the town's power has came back. As I went outside at noon today to see the cloudy skies, wet streets, and total wreckage today in HT caused by the tornado 2 days ago, I somehow still managed to maintain enough of a good cellphone signal service to get a text from Susie as we were trying to find things that couldn't be cooked in the fridge to eat since HER power was on, but our apartment's and the school's was still out, as she somehow read my mind and asked me to try some "Beef Redang" at her house with her. I had no idea what that was but she was Indonesian by heritage and did live on her own, and I assumed she could cook and stuff. Anyways, I grabbed my beanie quickly, putting it on, and then walked out to meet Susie at her home, I'll be honest, I had no idea what to expect, but at least I'd be opening my mind for the first time to food that wasn't from America for once....... and I was hungry anyways, so I'm glad Susie invited me in the first place. Especially in times like these.
