(14) The Baby Project

1 Month Later,

"Mrs Lancaster can I speak with you." Martin said 

"Good morning headmaster. What can I do for you?" Mrs Lancaster 

"I understand that my nephew James Barnes III is in your Home Economics class." Martin said 

"Yes.." she said 

"The baby project..I need you to partner him up with someone that is bright and cheery. See he lost mom 3 years ago..and he's been in a dark place ever since then. His dad has asked for me to find a way to pull him out of it.." Martin said 

Mrs Lancaster smiled, "I understand I have the perfect person." She said 

Later on during 4th period..

"Good afternoon class. Today we start our next project, for the next two weeks you and a partner will be parents to a fake baby. I have already chosen your partners." Mrs Lancaster said as she paced in front of the class. 

She began to read off the the partnerships, then she said "James Barnes III and Reign Martinez, baby girl." She said 

Bucky looked up to see Reign waving at him. They both signed the fake birth certificate Reign named the baby Maxine Barnes. After class was over, Bucky found her at her locker. 

"No sleepovers, we will just alternate days. So I will meet you after school." He said 

"Oh..ok." she said 

During his last period, Bucky ended up bailing on it since it was study hall for him and he went to meet up with Keely. After school Reign waited until she was one of the last few students at the school. 

Martin found her crying in the hall, "Ms Martinez what has you upset?" He said 

"My partner for the baby project left me. He told me to meet him after school and he left. I don't know him that well so I don't have his number or know where to find him." She said 

"Come on, do you know his name?" Martin said as he helped her up off the floor. 

"James Barnes III..although I hear some people call him Bucky." She said 

"I know exactly who that is, he's my nephew." Martin said as they went to the office. 

Martin called James who just got home from the hospital. 

"Hello Marty what's up?" James said 

"It's your son, I have very upset student names Reign Martinez who is his baby project partner. He bailed on her told her no sleepovers that they would alternate says, and then told her they would meet after school and it looks like he skipped his last class.." Martin said 

"He's home..give her the address and I will handle James.." he said 

"Will do." Martin said then hung up. 

He wrote down the address on a sticky note. 

"Here you go..his dad said to come there to their house." Martin said 

"Thank you.." she said then she left. 

She went by her house to pack a few things, while James went to upstairs to find Bucky getting head from Keely. 

"Our!" James said 

"Ever heard of knocking?" Bucky said 

"Ever heard this is my house I don't have to knock. Clean this mess up and change your sheets! I just got a call from your uncle saying you are trying to bail on a project!" James snapped as Keely ran out. 

Bucky began to clean his room, "So what ifs nothing but a dumb project..And I'm partnered with a girl who is nothing but a spoiled barbie!" Bucky said 

"Well she is on her way here, and you will play nice. Reign Martinez is the governor's daughter and her parents are good friends of mine." James said 

"What? I told her no-." Bucky said but James cut him off with a glare. 

Bucky looked down, "Whatever dad.." he said 

A few minutes later the doorbell rang, and James answered it. 

"Hello Reign.." he said .

"Hello..your house is beautiful." She said as she pulled her bags in behind her. 

"Thank you follow me I will take you to James." He said as he picked up her bags. 

They went upstairs where they found Bucky putting a pillow and blanket on the couch in his room. He looked up when he saw the door open. 

"You two have fun." James said as he left.

She could tell Bucky had been crying which meant she got him in trouble..

"You can have the bed, I put new sheets on it.." he said 

"Bucky?" She said 

He looked at her.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to get you in trouble. I didn't know that HM is your uncle.." she said 

"It's whatever.." he said as he laid down.
