1 month later,
It was the day of homecoming, this year Bucky was more than willing to go shopping and attend the dance. They got ready at Helen and James Sr's house to make things easier on Ophelia, given this was suppose to be Izzy's freshmen year.
Bucky waited downstairs for Reign, he heard heels clicking on the marble floor he looked up at the top of the steps.
"Oh baby.." he whispered as she slowly came down.
He helped her off the the last step and spun her. "Oh Reign you make everything look good." He said
"Including you." Helen said as she had been snapping photos.
"Oh stop Helen, that boy has all the Barnes good looks. She just shined him up a bit." James Sr said
Bucky just smiled and rolled his eyes. Helen got a few photos before they left in his car to the dance. This year's theme was tropical/Havana Nights. Near the end of the dance Martin and the counselor stepped up on stage.
"Alright everyone it's time to announce the winners of homecoming court. But first let's give our football team a hand as they are undefeated so far this season for the first time in a few years." Martin said
All the football players hollered, "Ok ok settle down let's do our winners." The counselor said
They did freshmen and Sophomores first, then it was time for juniors.
"Well this is no surprise cause they have won the last two years, James Barnes IV and Reign Martinez." Martin said
Bucky walked her up on the stage, as they got their crowns sashees and her flowers. They put them on their table after pictures. He led her out on the dance floor.
"17" by Pink Sweat began to play.
"Perfect song.." he whispered
She smiled "I love this song.." she said
"Me too." He said as he kissed her.
"Any word on what's going on with your dad?" She said
He smoked, "Oh I know what's going on I don't need to ask. He's done this before when mom decided to give up, he started to "work more hours". Hes cheating on Ophelia with who I don't know but he's cheating again I know it. Austin is trying to figure out if there has been any nurses that are new." He said as they danced.
"Your dad can't stand to love someone through the bad parts." She said
"But I can.." he said
"I know you can." She said as they kissed and the song was over.
When they got home, he gave a hot pink envelope.
"What is this for?" She said
"You kissed me a year ago on homecoming..I went off on you. This year this is my make up gift to you." He said
She looked at him confused as she opened it. "You didn't have to do this I forgave you a long time ago." She said
Inside the envelope was plane tickets, and villa reservations in St. Barts for the week of their fall break.
"Buck.." she said
"You and me are going away just the two of us." He whispered as he pulled her into his lap.
She kisses him then she smiled, "You better not tell your girlfriend.." she said
"Haha you are my girl..the girl I love. The girl I'm about to make love to.." he whispered as he kissed her neck.
"I love you too.." she whispered as he unzipped her dress.
