The next night was the football game, Bucky showed up right before half time began.
"There you are..what took so long?" Reign said
"I'm here that's all that matters Reign let's get this stupid shit over with." He said as he took off his sunglasses.
They lined up for homecoming court, and the announcer named off everyone on court. James was in the crowd with his parents and Winnie's parents as they snapped photos. Once half time was over he was done taking photos he went towards the parking lot.
"James James wait.." Reign said as she chased after him.
"What now Reign.." he said
"Pick me up at 630 tomorrow ok?" She said
He let a breathe out, "Fine whatever.." he said as he walked off.
The next day Reign got her hair and make up done and her nails. She got herself ready for the dance. Bucky finished getting ready when he came downstairs.
"Son your tie.." James said
"I will have Reign do it.." he said
"Son just stand still.." James said as he fixed the tie.
"Dad I don't need you to do this for me.." he said
"Shut up son I'm saving you time.." James said as he finished it.
"Whatever.." he said and left.
Bucky picked her up, and they helped each other tie their masquerade masks when they got to the school.
"We are leaving after they announce winners I have plans with Keely." He said
"Oh ok.." she said
Half way through the dance they had everyone be quiet, James snuck in and found Martin.
"How's things going?" He whispered as Ms Hodge began to announce prince and princess.
"Not well, he won't dance with her." Martin said
Then it was time for Duke and Duchess, Ms Hodge opened up the envelope.
"Your Duke and Duchess is Reign Martinez and James Barnes III."
Reign dragged him up on stage and they got their crowns. Once all the winners were announced the DJ played
"Strangers" by Maddie and Tae.
James snapped a few photos and left.
After the dance Bucky took her home.
"Bucky thank you..um for all that you did for me." She said
"Oh you are welcome." He said
She made him look at her, and she kissed him. He pushed her off of him.
"Reign! How many times have I said that I have a girlfriend! Why would you kiss me! I mean seriously you are not even my type! You annoy me and you think that you can change me into your prince charming!" He snapped
Reign began to cry, she grabbed her stuff and left the car as she ran inside. Bucky sped off in his Audi to go home and change. The next morning Claire brought Reign some breakfast in bed.
"Honey you can't steal someone's boyfriend just because you like the boy." Claire said
She sniffled under her blanket and went back to sleep.
