(38) Christmas Gala

A week later,

It was the night of the Barnes Christmas Gala, Bucky picked up Reign. 

"You look beautiful.." he said 

"Thank you." She said 

They headed to the gala, James saw them at the top of the stairs. 

"Mom.." James said 

Helen turned as did everyone else, "Oh baby grandson..Reign you do so good with him." Helen said 

"My boy look at you looking sharp and this one Reign you are nothing but pure grace. I see so much of your grandmother in you." James Sr said 

"Thank you." She said 

"Thanks grandpa.." Bucky said 

Once Bucky got her a drink and settled at their table he found his sisters. 

"How could you two go behind my back like that." He said 

"What are you talking about?" Jana said 

"You used Reign to get me to come to the Christmas party at Gigi's!" He snapped 

"James.." Ashton said 

"Don't you of all of my siblings like Austin got to have so many things that I don't.." he said as he cried 

"James..don't.." Jana said 

"So please spare me the bullshit that you are just trying to help! I don't need that! So please stop putting your nose where it doesn't belong." He said 

Austin and Ryan came over when they heard him yelling, "Come on little J lets go get some air." 

"You all just don't get it and you never will!" He yelled as he pushed off his siblings and went to get air. 

James came over with Helen "What the hell was that about?" He said 

"We um..we had Reign help us to get him to come to Gigi's Christmas party this weekend." Jana said 

"Girls..why did you do that? He isn't ready for that he's barely ready for any of this.." James said 

"We just want our baby brother back dad.." Ashton said 

"We all do Ash but forcing him when he isn't ready is only going to make not want to more." Ryan said 

Reign went to find Bucky, she found him sitting in the car crying. 

"I hate everyone! I hate holidays birthdays weddings!! I wish I could just run away and never come back!." He yelled 

"James we don't have to stay we can go home.." she said softly 

"I'm going to take you home I'm sorry..I need to be away from people right now." He said as he started the car. 

She looked down, as he left the parking lot. When they got to her house he didn't go inside like normally he has the last several weeks. She sent a text to Jana and Mallory to let them tell James that Bucky is super triggered.

"Dad..I got a text from Reign. He took her home, and she said he is very triggered and upset." Jana said 

"Ok.." he said 

Bucky changed when he got home, and left in his Camaro he grabbed a bottle of bourbon using his fake ID and went to the cemetery. Around midnight James came home to find Bucky still gone. 

"Do you think he went to Kelly's?" Ophelia said 

"No he would be back by now." James said as he tried to call him. 

Bucky's phone started ringing in his pants pocket on the floor. "Oh no.." Ophelia said 

James pulled out, he saw missed calls from Reign and Keely.. James hung his phone and called his other sons. He then called Reign after getting her number from Bucky's phone. 

"Hello.." she said 

"Reign its James..if you see him please let me know. He has left his phone at home and he switched cars.." James said 

"Oh my gosh! He said he needed to be alone away from people." She said 

"Ok..just keep an eye out if he shows up there." He said and hung up 

They began to drive all over, Ryan had one last bunch of where he could be around 2AM. James and the boys pulled up at the cemetery. They found him passed out on the ground holding his empty bottle. 

"Son.." James whispered 

Reign pulled up, "Reign? Go home you don't need to see him like this." Ryan said 

She walked over to him, "Bucky?" She said 

He jolted awake, "What are you all doing here? How did you find me?" He said 

"It was a hunch.." Ryan said 

"Come on son let's go home." James said as he helped him up. 

"No..I'm going with Reign. Ryan can bring my car.." he said when he saw Mallory in Ryan's car. 

"You good with that Reign cause he is drunk." Austin said 

"Not like I haven't dealt with a drunken boy before besides I trust this one." She said 

Once they got in her car, "You shouldn't Reign.." he said drunkenly. 

Once they got to her house, she helped him into the shower. Once she got him cleaned up and in bed. 

"Reign Im sorry I can't be the guy you need me to be...we can only be friends. You are very beautiful.." he whispered in the dark. 

"Shhh James go to sleep." She said 

She went to put his Airpods in, and he looked at her. "So beautiful.." he whispered 

"You are drunk James..how can you drink like that?" She said 

"I've been doing it since I was 13..getting high having sex..since I was 13." He said 

"Sex at 13?" She said 

"Mmmhmm I met a older girl at HT she didn't mind that I was 13.." he smiled as he laid on his stomach. 

"I can't believe you would do that." She said 

"She told me I had a big dick for a 13 year old and was better than her ex." He said as he slowly fell back asleep.
