A week later,
It was the day of the funeral, and it has been dark at the Barnes household. James has been sleeping on the hall floor outside Bucky's room. He was scared of what he may do to himself if he didn't stay close by.
Bucky hasn't ate or slept, or left his room except to finish the last three days of 7th grade.
"Dad you need to get up and get some actual sleep." Jana said as she brought him some coffee.
"I can't Jana..he will never get those images out of his head. He is never going to be okay without your mama. The football coach called yesterday and said that he turned in his pads and said he is quitting football." James said
"Dad you knew this would happen. He and mom were super close he wasn't going to take this well rather he was here with her or not here." Jana said
"Yeah.." James said as he got up off the floor.
The kids got themselves ready, and headed to the funeral. The service was held at the local funeral home. They played video of her life in pictures to the song "Scars in Heaven" by Casting Crowns.
The minister said a few words, then James spoke as well as Sarah. Jana sang "Jealous of the Angels."
Everybody said their final goodbyes before they went to their burial service. Bucky kissed her forehead and "I love you mama.." His two big brothers had to help move him cause he didn't want to leave her.
Then they went to the burial service, and laid roses on her casket. When they got home Bucky locked himself in his room.
Marleigh saw him, and hugged James "Just give him time, he just needs to grieve."
"I know." He said
"My daughter knew this day was coming. I tried to tell her to prepare him but she didn't want to." Marleigh said
"Yeah not to speak I'll of the dead but she could be stubborn." James said
"She got that from her father. Those Daly stubborn genes." Marleigh said as they went to into the kitchen to eat.
