Two days after the sentencing,
Reign got herself ready for the wedding rehearsal, and met Bucky at his grandmother's. He was waiting outside against his car as he smoked a cigarette.
She stepped out of the car as he put it out.
"I like your dress and your hair.." he said as he walked over to her.
"Thanks.." she said
He twirled a piece of a blonde strand, "Please come over tonight..I know what you said but I miss you." He said
"Bucky.." she whispered
"You don't have to stay, just stay for a little bit please." He said
"We will talk about it later." She said as she took his arm and they went inside.
"They you two are.." Helen said
"Yeah.." Bucky said
"You both look lovely. Come on and join us in the ballroom. Jana and soon to be husband will be here in a minute they are finishing up at the venue." Helen said
Bucky and Reign found their seats as a string quartet played music. Soon enough the room was filled with friends and family. They all sat down to eat and mingle with each other.
"Dance with me Buck.." she said
"I um..ok.." he said as he helped her up.
They went out on the dance floor, and began to slow dance.
"You look so good tonight.." he whispered
"Buck don't we both know you don't like when I wear short dresses." She said
"I didn't like that god awful pink dress that looked like it had been painted on you. You looked like a street walker in it." He said
She just rolled her eyes, "How did your doctor appointment go? Everything ok? No brain damage?" She said
"My brain is fine..he said it was because my fever was becoming severe Delilah told me it's happened before when I was 2 and had the flu." He said
"That doesn't make it any better James..you could of died." She said
"I know that. I wish everyone would stop yelling that at me I know." He said
She looked down, "I will come over for a bit but then I'm going home." She said as the dance was over.
They left the dinner, and went to his house. When they got to his house they sat down in his basement.
"When are you going to stop punishing me and stay over again?" He said
"That's not what this is James.." she whispered
"Then what is it, the doctor says I'm fine Reign I'm not epileptic." He said
She looked down, "Buck when I was 8 years old I lost my best friend Ellie. She got sick with a severe case of the flu and pneumonia, she got so bad that her fever spiked to 105 and she died. I couldn't sleep or eat I couldn't understand how this could happen she was in the hospital..so I was pulled from school and put into homeschool and therapy. So yes I have been very triggered lately with the trail and you getting the flu ending up in the hospital..so I have I just needed some space to get back into a good headspace.." she said
He scooted closer and caressed her cheek.
"Buck don't look at me like that.." she whispered
"I will look at you the way I want to.." he whispered
His phone buzzed, and she saw the name on his phone was Keely.
"I'm gonna go.." she mouthed
"Reign.." he said as he muted his end
"I gotta go..I will see you tomorrow." She said and left.
