A Week Later,
It was the day of the anniversary dinner, Reign continued to be quiet around Bucky and got ready in the guest room. James walked by Bucky's room to see him fixing his hair but hadn't tied his bow tie.
"James do you want me to show you how to fix your bow tie?" James said
"Nope.." he said as he walked out and down the hall to Reign.
Reign was finishing her lipstick when he walked in. He saw her dress was unzipped and a memory flashed in his head of Winnie and James zipping up her dress. Bucky walked over to her and zipped it up.
"Oh thanks.." she said
"Can you tie a bow tie?" He said
"Yeah.." she said
James peaked in to see her tying his tie and he felt pain in his heart. He went downstairs to see if Ophelia and Isabella was ready.
"You ok James?" Ophelia said
"It's hard that's all. He went from being super attached to me and Winnie. We had a great relationship then Winnie passed and it was like he died to and someone replaced my son. I can't even get him to talk to me or let me help him do things.." he said
Bucky and Reign started to come down the hall, and James saw them coming down the stairs.
"You look beautiful Reign..and you did good on my boy. It's nice to see something other than dark colors and a leather jacket." James said
She forced a smile, and said "Thanks."
They all left, Bucky put the fake baby in the backseat of the Audi. He then lit up a cigarette.
"Bucky can you.." Reign said but then stopped herself.
"Can I what?" He said
"Nothing." She said as he backed out of the driveway and turned on his own music.
"Sweet Emotion" Aerosmith began to thump out of his speakers.
They stopped to get gas then headed to his grandparents, they arrived last.
"Well look at my grandbaby..oh my goodness you look so handsome!" Helen said as she hugged him.
"Hi nana..happy anniversary." He said
"Who is this beautiful girl?" She said
"Um..she is.." Bucky said
"Hi I'm Reign Martinez I'm his partner on the baby project. But you know parents Vincent And Claire Martinez." Reign said
"Oh James told me you would be coming. It's nice to finally meet the princess your grandparents and parents talk so much about." Helen said as they followed her inside..
They went into the ballroom that they had in their house, and joined everyone else. Delilah and James walked into the middle of the room with microphones.
"Welcome to our parents 60th wedding anniversary or the diamond anniversary! That means we are getting old James." Delilah said
"Psh..I'm not the oldest you are." James said which made everyone laugh.
"Yeah yeah, before we get started with Anything else. We would like for everyone to turn their attention to this screen as we have something for Mom and dad." Delilah said
The lights dimmed, and "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane" by Tanya Tucker began to play as a display of photos began to show from their wedding day, and then it switched to "In Color" By James Johnson as photos of James' military days played (he was drafted). Then it went into "From The Ground Up." By Dan + Shay which was a fast pace of photos of the grandkids they have together.
Helen was crying by the end, "Oh mama..don't cry." Delilah said as she hugged her.
"It was beautiful thank you so much my babies." She said as she hugged both James and Delilah as James Sr joined in on the hug.
"Now you may take that first dance again mama." James said as they turned on "Pretty Woman."
James Sr and Helen took to the dance floor, and they danced. James Sr flirted with his wife as they danced. After the dance was over James Sr walked over to James.
"You got him out of the leather jacket.." James Sr
"I didn't. Reign did the girl with him..remember I told you about his baby project partner.." James said
"Claire and Vincent's daughter?" James Sr said as Martin joined them.
"I see our plan might be working.." Martin said
"Don't get to excited Marty it's not going well..he can't stand her they fight constantly." James said
"Plan?" James Sr
"James found out about the baby project and asked me to find him a partner that maybe will bring him back to life." Martin said
"Oh..well she would be the best one to try." James Sr said
Everyone danced and mingled between watching old home videos. Then they put one up that James specifically picked for a reason.
"ABC" by The Jackson 5 began to play Bucky looked up to see 8 year old Bucky and his brothers and male cousins all lined up to sing. Bucky doing the lead vocals of a young Michael Jackson.
He glared over at James as Reign's face lit up to see a different side of Bucky and his smile.
James looked down as Helen hugged him, "He will come back to us baby when he is ready.." Helen said
Bucky looked away when the video showed Winnie so happy laughing smiling and singing along. Bucky ended up walking out and finding a place to cry. He popped some pills and smoke a cigarette before returning to the party to see find Reign dancing with her dad.
Bucky told her it was time to leave when she was done he didn't want to watch anymore home videos.
