The next night they had their friends and family over for dinner. They set up a buffet style dinner in the kitchen and everyone enjoyed the meal.
"Now on to the real reason we asked everyone to come." James said as they all went into the living room.
Bucky climbed up into Winnie's lap and laid his head on her shoulder.
"A couple months ago, Winnie discovered a lump on her breast. Yesterday I made her go to an appointment to get checked out.." he said then took a breathe.
"Winnie is in stage 2 breast cancer..they found 4 tumors 3 of them on one breast. Dr Tomlinson believes the first tumor went unnoticed and began to spread." James said
"Daddy what does that mean?" Bucky said
"Mommy is sick..the doctors are going to give her medicine to make her better." James said
"Mama doesn't look sick and she doesn't have a fever." Bucky said as he put his hand on her forehead.
"It's not like when you have the flu baby." Winnie said
"Oh.." she said
Afterwards, everyone mingled for awhile before heading home. Winnie went to lay down so James was in charge of clean up.
"I will help you daddy!" Bucky said as he started to clean up.
"Thank you Buchanan.." he said
"You are such a brown noser and a suck up." Ryan said
"I am not! At least I help! And I clean my own room." Bucky said
Ryan makes a mocking face at him, "Boys that's enough." James said
Once they got the kitchen cleaned up they all went to bed. James was checking in on all the kids, Bucky was the last one. He was about to open the door when he heard
"Dear God,
Please make my mama better, and not sick. Gigi told me to prayer for her. So I'm praying for her. I need my mama God and daddy does too. I also pray that you will make my brothers less mean. Amen"
James whispered "Amen" then he walked in to tell him goodnight.
"Buchanan..I love you son. I'll see you in the morning." James said as Bucky hugged him
"Love you daddy." He said then got in his bed.
