The next morning, Bucky woke up with Reign sleeping on him.
"Reign?" He said
"Mmm.." she mumbled
"We need to get up..how did you end up like this?" He said
She realized where she was, "I'm sorry I'm so sorry.." she said as she quickly left the bed and ran into the bathroom.
He heard her turn on the shower, "Great.." he said then he heard his phone buzz.
He rolled over and picked it up to see a text from his group chat with his brothers.
"Hey we are going up tonight. I'm not going to Ophelia's family." Ryan said
"I was planning the same thing, but I was never going to hers. I can't stand her or Isabella." He said
"I'll go we all can't bail on dad it would like suspicious. And we know you don't like Little J." Austin said
Reign came back out of the bathroom, he looked up from his phone.
"I didn't mean to come off the way that I did..I just don't like all that stuff." He said
"I know.." she said
"We need to go by your house. We are going to Tucson today so you need new clothes." He said
"Ok.." she said
She slipped on some clothes, and they went to get her some new ones. Once they did that they grabbed some lunch headed back to his house to pack up and they left while James and Ophelia worked their short shifts.
They did an hour and 43 minute drive, she played music and looked up vegan cake ideas cause his aunt is vegan. They finally arrived at Marleigh and Harold's house.
"Wow.." she whispered
"Wow as in it's a lot different from my other grandparents or wow that you like it." He said as he put the car in park.
"Both.." she said.
They got out of the car, he grabbed their bags and they went up to the front door. He knocked on the door.
Marleigh came to the door, "Buchanan..oh honey it's so good to see you." She said as she hugged him.
"Hey Gigi..this is my friend Reign. Dad told you about her." He said
"Oh he did. It's so nice to meet you Reign. You are so beautiful.." Marleigh said
"Thanks I don't feel that way right now with my face like this but it's healing up." She said
"Alright you two come on in." She said as she took them to the living room.
"Harry honey look who is here." She said
Harold muted the TV, "Oh my boy." Harold said as he walked over to him.
He hugged him, "It's good to see you..you are getting so tall and good looking you must take after me your ol pops.." Harold said
"Of course pops who else would I take after." He said
"Whose this that you brought with you." Harold said
"This is my friend Reign. Reign this is pops Harold and my Gigi Marleigh." He said
"Nice to meet you both." She said
"I hope my grandson beat the shit out of the guy that did that to your beautiful face." Harold said
"Oh I did..hit him so hard he fell backwards, and then cracked a few ribs with my boots." He said
"That's my boy.." Harold said
A few hours later, Ryan and his fiance Carrie showed up right as they were about to eat dinner. The next day the rest of his siblings showed up for Thanksgiving dinner along with Winnie's sister Mallory.
"This cake you made Reign is amazing. And thanks for making cupcakes." Marleigh said .
"You're welcome." She said
After they all are, the boys stepped out side to smoke. When he came back in he found Marleigh and Reign sitting together as she showed her pictures. He peaked and listened.
"He was so close to Winnie, he was her last pregnancy. It was a rough one for her we nearly lost both of them. She had him via c section, he had to stay in the NICU for 8 weeks it broke her heart. After she took him home, she spoiled him rotten let him do everything and anything he said wanted. Him, Ryan and Jana were very attached on Winnie, but little J had to have all the attention." Marleigh said
Reign looked down.
"James doesn't understand that Buchanan was 10 years old he didn't understand and I think somewhere inside is still that little boy who is lost and confused about what went wrong. It bothers me that James is with Ophelia and moved her in when he should be focusing on my grandson and getting him help." Marleigh said
"He seems different here more relaxed.." she said
"That's because when he is here, he feels his mother. He can talk about her more openly and freely." Marleigh said
"Hey Gigi what are you doing?" He said as he went to sit in her lap.
"Oh my boy just letting her see some pictures.." she said
Later that night, Bucky was struggling to sleep. He found Marleigh half asleep on the couch. He snuggled into her side
"Oh honey..it's ok.." she whispered
Reign woke up drenched in sweat around 4AM to find herself alone. She took a cool shower as she cried. Bucky was awoken when Marleigh got up to make coffee and breakfast. He went back to the bedroom when he saw the bed empty and the shower on.
"Reign?" He said as he went into the bathroom.
He saw her sitting on the floor of the shower, he turned off the water.
"Hey hey im sorry.." he said as he got her out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her.
They had breakfast then got on the road to go home.
