(69) A Surprise Announcement

Everyone met at the stairs, Helen saw Bucky and Reign coming down the hall with Ryan and Mallory. 

"Jamie baby look.." she whispered to her husband. 

James Sr saw what had her attention, "My word, she did amazing." James Sr whispered 

They hooked the rest of the family, "What?" Bucky said 

"You look incredible.." James Sr said 

"You really do baby. Nana is beyond happy you came on this trip and you have this beautiful girl putting some color on you." Helen said 

He forced a fake smile, "Thanks nana.." he said 

The photographer got their family photo, and couple photos before they headed into the dining room. They found their table and took seats as they enjoyed their dinner. Ryan could tell something was off about James. 

"Does Dad seem nervous to you?" Ryan whispered to Bucky. 

Bucky looked up from his plate, he looked at Ryan confused. 

"Dad seems off tonight like he is nervous or something." Ryan said 

Bucky looked down the table at James. 

"Yeah Dad does seem a little odd tonight." Bucky said 

After dessert started, James told Helen he needed to make the announcement. So she got the table's attention. 

"My son has something he would like to announce." Helen said 

All of them looked at James, "Um I wanted to let you all know that I proposed to Ophelia earlier today and she said yes. Also she is pregnant with twins." James said 

Bucky felt Reign's hand squeeze his, Bucky gulped. 

He felt like he couldn't breathe, "Reign I need to get out of here.." he whispered 

"Ok ok we will go.." she said as she helped him up. 

"Little J.." Ryan said 

"James honey.." Helen said 

"You all go back to your desserts I have got him." She said as they went back to their suite. 

Bucky begin to pace, "Use your words Bucky tell me what's wrong?" She said as she sat on the bed. 

"How could he do this? I mean mom was his wife! They were middle school sweethearts! And yes I get it she's gone...but she is still his wife. And all he's done in the last four years is make it seem like the love he had for my mother was a joke! He was the worst husband d in the end!" He said 

She looked down. 

"Buck he's just trying to be happy and move on he's not trying to hurt anyone." She said 

"Well it's a little late for that! What about me? What about his kids? He can't just start a new family now that mom is gone!" He said 

"James that isn't what he is doing. He knows that he has kids he knows that he has a family with your mom.." she said but was cut off by a knock at the door. 

Bucky went to answer it, he saw James. 

"Come on let's go for a walk so we can talk." James said 

Bucky looked down. "Go Buck.." Reign said 

Bucky followed James out, they walked in silence for awhile till they found a quiet spot and stood at the railing. 

"Buchanan, I know that you have been struggling with your mom's death. You are still stuck at 13 while the rest of us have accepted it and moved on. I know you are mad and hurt that I did this. But I need you to know and understand that your mother made me promise her two things.." James said 

Bucky looked down. 

"You know about how she made me promise to not tell you that she was giving up. She did that to protect you I begged her to tell you the truth because I was scared that if he had been you to be there for her final moments it would scar you for life. I deal with death at work I know how jarring it is. If I had a crystal ball when you were 10 years old and I had known the outcome ahead of time I would have done things differently and helped you understand the cancer better. But back to my point, the day we found out that it was cancer on our way back home your mother made me promise her that if she was to go that I move on, that I marry again. I was against it because I didn't want to believe she could die..she was and will always be the love of my life James she was my world. My sunshine..but she made me promise even told me that we had six kids and I would need help especially with you." James said 

Bucky wiped away a tear. 

"Son, I know you and your mama had a special bond no one can take that away from you. You use to have one with me, and I know that I made a lot of mistakes in this world believe me I do. One of them being that yes I wasn't there for her in the end, and I will live that guilt for the rest of my life son I don't need you to remind me how bad I messed up. But I am trying so hard to fulfill a promise, you don't have to do anything for Ophelia all I ask is that you show a little respect and a little kindness that's all. I know deep down inside you are a good kid, I know I and your mama raised you better than this. Alot of this is my fault, I was told by the therapist that I just needed to give you space let you grieve on your own and that's what I did..but I have sat by and watch you become a different person..it's like you died too. You and I had a great bond but the light you once had is gone..I'm very proud that you kept your grades up, and you go to school you are very independent..and strong. But I see the liquor bottles the cigarettes the weed..and you are just drowning the pain and everything else." James said 

Bucky wiped away more tears, "James, I need you to listen to me. You need to go to therapy so we don't have another outburst like we had a couple of weeks ago. You have to get better. You need to sleep in your bed when Reign isn't there." James said 

Bucky looked at him, "But dad.." he said 

"Son I know this has been so hard on you, I see it every day. I still hear you hysterically crying at me over the phone. I didn't know you went back into the room watched them put her in the bag until you yelled it at everyone. You were so brave that day even if you had to do it alone, but there was nothing anyone could do..she made her choice. And in a way all our prayers were answered she is no longer in pain, she is no longer needing another surgery or losing her hair. She is whole again in heaven.." James said as he hugged him. 

He walked with Bucky back to his suite, when Bucky walked in he found Reign in the tub. 

"Hey how did it go?" She said 

"I don't want to talk about it." He said as he undressed and got in the tub with her. He pulled her in between his legs.

He kissed her neck, he began to massage her breasts. He moaned in her ear 

"You looked so sexy tonight by the way, like a mermaid goddess." He whispered in her ear.

She smiled, "Thank you.." she whispered as she felt his hand travel. 

He began to play with her, "Oh.. James....mmm. We talked...about this..oh gosh.." she whispered 

"I know...mmmm baby but I need you.." he whispered as he took her hand 

She began to jerk him, "Mmmm yeah..oh Reign...oh baby don't stop.." he whispered as he began to work his fingers harder in her. 

She began to moan in pleasure a lot louder than she did in Montana. 

"James! Oh yeah! Oh gosh! Mmm..." She yelled 

"Oh Reign! Oh fuck I'm coming..oh God oh shit fuck yeah." He whispered as he squirted against her back. 

She felt him smile against her shoulder, "Oh baby now I can sleep.." he whispered 

"Oh Bucky that felt so good.." she whispered as they got out of the tub and went to sleep.
