Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang were sitting on the roof of their quarters like fucking birds that would shit on the windshield of your carriage.

Do carriages have windshieleds...?

Of course, they couldn't get in since Jiang Wanyin had placed a talisman– that would detonate upon opening the door– on their door.

Wei Wuxian sighed. "I'm glad I bought the presence sealing talismans with me then."

Nie Huaisang rested the dull end of his saber on his shoulder, the hilt making a clacking sound. "How did you even come up with a talisman like that?"

"I didn't, Niang did. He would often skip out on his shared workload in the sect and would leave it at Xu-Ge's disposal. He said he found it in an ancient text called Qi? Ki? Metsu No something something."

"Would you be so kind to lend some to your Sang-Ge—" "A jar of Emperor's Smile."

"Shit is fucking expensive though!" Nie Huaisang whined.

"Bitch and moan about it. I'm not giving these for free. They're a hassle to write!" Wei Wuxian groaned. "Especially with my handwriting."

Nie Huaisang stood up as he stabbed his saber through the roof, stretching as he spotted the Lan elders who were on night patrol to check on the students.

"*Yawn* Somebody probably has an uglier handwriting than you, A-Xian."

"Would be happier if he wore red too." Wei Wuxian smirked as he turned into his dragon form.

He was the size of a full-grown anaconda as he slithered to rest on Nie Huaisang's neck.

"Do I get to slice them in half cross-wise or length-wise?"

Wei Wuxian shook his head as he let out a small growl.

"Awwe! I don't get to kill anyone at all?" Nie Huaisang pouted.

His frown slowly turned into a wide grin as his eyes let out a green glint under the moon.

"I hate blood on my hands anyway. I prefer to manipulate the shit out of this story."

They were the same elders who threw Lan Xichen into that quick travel talisman earlier.

Nie Huaisang jumped down from the roof, pretending as if he stumbled out of the room while practicing his saber.

"Aiyaa! Da– Da-Ge's going to kill me if I had not practiced my saber!" He cried out as he pretended to be unable to lift his blade.

One of the elders spoke. "Nie Er-Gongzi, what are you doing practicing the blade at this hour? It is nearing the curfew."

Nie Huaisang let out a few tears as he got onto his knees, sobbing. "I– I disappointed my Da-Ge! I need to practice the saber or else– He'll lose face because of me!"

Both Lan Elders came forward to comfort the young master, but Nie Huaisang smirked, gripping his saber as he swung it to hit the back of their necks with its dull end.

Even with it being the dull end of the blade, their necks quickly bruised purple as they fell to the ground, unconscious.

Wei Wuxian reverted back to his body as he poked the bodies of the elders with his sword.

"Geez, Sang-Ge. If I knew you were so evil, I would have acquainted myself with you back then at Yunmeng."

Nie Huaisang rested on the hilt of his saber as if it were a cane, letting out a sigh. "That's just light work. Why did we have to knock them out in the first place?"
