This story is just 90% fluff. Maddie is JJs little sister, 13 years old. They are living at the Maybank house after Luke left. JJ is dating Kie.
Maddie was a shy girl, the total opposite of her wild card brother. She didn't make friends easy and until she was comfortable with someone she was very quiet. Maddie LOVED hanging out with her brothers friends though. Every happy memory was from the Chatue. JJ, John B and Pope all treating the girl like a little sister. Even though Kie has been dating JJ for 2 months, Maddie was still very shy around her.
Maddie woke up immediately greeted by a pounding headache and as soon as she swallowed, an incredibly sore throat. She looked over at her alarm clock seeing it was 4 in the morning. She tried to go back to bed, but it was unsuccessful. She was burning up, a thin layer of sweat coating her body, yet she was freezing cold and her blankets just weren't keeping her warm. It was around five thirty when she couldn't take it anymore. She got out of bed, bringing her blanket with her and shuffled down the hall. She paused at the closed door. JJ never closed his bedroom door but ever since Kiara started sleeping over it had become a habit. She knocked and waited awkwardly at the door for about a minute before just opening it. She opened it slowly, peeking in to see Kiera wrapped up in JJs arms. She sighed and started to turn around when Kiara woke up to the door creaking.
She opened her eyes seeing the young blonde in the doorway with a miserable expression plastered on her face. Kie looked to JJ who was out cold before looking back to Maddie. "Hey you alright?" Kie questions. "Yeah... Sorry for waking you." Maddie mumbles wincing at the sharp pain in her throat from speaking. "What's going on?" JJ yawns sitting up. "What are you doing in here?" JJ sighs looking to his alarm clock reading 5:30. "I don't feel good." Maddie whispers eyes focused on the ground. JJ looks her over a frown on his face. "What's wrong?" He sighs slowly getting out of bed sounding slightly annoyed. "My throat. And my head." She whispers tears stabbing at her eyes. Fevers had always made the girl incredibly over emotional. JJ pressed a hand to her forehead confirming it. "Let's get you some Tylenol." He mutters guiding her to the kitchen. He grabs her two pills and hands her a cup of water. She winced feeling like she swallowed acid instead. "Do you have your phone?" JJ questions. "No." Maddie choked out. "I need a flashlight..." JJ mutters looking around the kitchen. "Here." Kiara says handing him her phone. "Thanks. Open." JJ sighs turning it on and looking down Maddie's throat. "Shit..." JJ cursed seeing the dreaded white spots. "What's wrong?" Maddie whimpered. "Does that look like strep?" JJ sighed passing the flashlight to Kie. Kiara does the same as JJ did looking at the puffy inflamed spots. "Yeah." Kiara sighed giving the girl a sympathetic look. "I think I got some of your meds from last time." JJ mutters heading to the bathroom. Maddie immediately shut down, feeling awkward. "Hey you alright?" Kiara frowned noticing the difference in the girl. "Mhm." She mumbles awkwardly. JJ returned with the meds and passed them to her. "You know the drill. I'm going back to bed. Wake me up if you need anything. Love you." JJ yawns heading back to his room.
Time Skip
Kiara had woken up about an hour later having to pee. As she exists the bathroom she noticed the light on in the living room. "Couldn't sleep?" Kie questions watching Maddie staring at the tv some random show on. "No." She whispers. "It hurts." She croaks out voice almost gone. Kie sits beside her on the couch. "Can I keep you company?" Maddie nods a little surprised.
Time Skip- I am lazy
JJ quickly noticed Kiara wasn't beside him. He walks out into the living room and took a mental Polaroid of the scene in front of him. Maddie was cuddled up in Kies lap fast asleep while she played with her hair. "How long have you been up?" JJ smiles. "A few hours. Maddie couldn't sleep." Kie yawns. "I wouldn't be offended if you went home. I know how much you hate being sick." JJ said not wanting her to feel obligated. "No. Im good. I think she's starting to warm up to me." Kie smiles. "Im glad." JJ chuckles. "What time is it?" Maddie mumbles voice laced with sleep. "8am." JJ says glancing at the clock. "Can we play a game?" She questions. "Sure. What game?" Kie questions. "UNO."
