Ok, Rafe is definitely growing on me. At first I didn't understand now I definitely do.
Rafe had a worked incredibly hard to get where he was, the CEO of Cameron Real Estate, a new homeowner, and clean. He glanced at the picture on his desk, his engagement photoshoot with Lily. He never thought he would find a love like that.
"Mr.Cameron?" Tracey, his assistant questions knocking on the door. "Yes?" He sighs not looking up from his computer, he had the biggest client of his career coming in, in less than 20 minutes. "Your housekeeper is on park one. She says it's urgent, she didn't want to leave a message." Tracey informs slightly nervous to disturb him. "Alright..." he mutters picking up the phone.
-Cameron speaking.
-Hello Mr.Cameron, I know you are very busy but Ms.Lily is very unwell. I am quite nervous to leave her home alone.
-Can you put her on the phone? What do you mean unwell?
-She had passed out, hit her head and refused to go to the hospital. She is resting now, horrible fever though.
-I will be right there.
Rafe says immediately going into panic mode. He stuffed everything in his bag. "Tracey, I need to go. Clear my schedule for today, possibly tomorrow. I'll let you know." He says hurrying down the stairs, running straight into his new investors. "I apologize, I am going to have to reschedule. My fiancée had an accident. Tracey here will take care of you." He rushes walking straight by them.
Rafe drove like a madman, making the twenty minute drive in 12 minutes. He barely had the car in park before he had the door open. He hurried inside, going straight to the bedroom, "Lily?" He called out seeing the bed empty. "In here." She called in a weak voice. "Oh baby..." He whispered taking off his suit jacket and kneeling beside her. She was crouched in-front of the toilet, looking worse for wear. "How was your meeting?" She mumbles not lifting her head off the toilet seat. "It was good, went alright." He lies a small smile toying at his lips. Here she was, horribly ill and that's the first thing she had to say. "How are you feeling?" He questions resting a hand on her back. Her response was to sit up, and take a gulp of air trying to suppress the gags. "It's ok baby. Just let it all out." He soothes looking away as she coughs up a horrible amount of bile. He gathers her hair into a loose pony tail as it falls into her face. "I'm sorry. You can go." She mumbles flushing the toilet. "This is so gross." She says starting to cry. "Shh. Stop baby. It's ok." Rafe says pulling her into a hug and kissing the top of her head. She snuggles into his touch finally finding a comfortable position for the first time all day. "Why didn't you call me?" Rafe questions wiping her face with a washcloth. "You had work. I'm ok." She whispers. "Call me." He whispers back. "Rafe! It's 4:30!" She snaps seeing his watch. "It's fine. Calm down." He soothes. "You canceled!" She pouts. "I didn't cancel, I rescheduled. They understand." He says rubbing her back. "It's a four million dollar deal." Lily whispers feeling incredibly guilty. "Lils... It's ok baby." Rafe soothes. "No it's not." She says starting to cry. "You gave up all that... For me..." She says hiding her head into his chest. "Of course I would baby. I had to make sure you're ok. Don't cry, it's alright. Sickness and in health baby." He chuckles kissing her cheek. "I can't believe I get to marry you." She whispers eyes fluttering closed. "Well believe it. Two more weeks baby." He smiles. "What do you saw we get in bed? It might be a little more comfortable?" She shakes her head leaning away from him and dry heaving. "Ok... Still puking." He narrated rubbing her back again. "Bed now." She mumbles. "Yup." He chuckles picking her up and carrying her to bed. "I love you." He whispers tucking her in.
