Chapter 47

Y/n POV

The two Scorpios rexes surrounded us as they growled and roared at each other. The three of us stood with our back to each other as we faced all sides, being vigilant if they decided to jump at us. "There's two of them" said Darius, then they got closer and we screamed. Both came running at each other and we ducked as they slammed the other one and fell to the ground. They got up and continued to fight. While they fought we had to dodge their tails and feet. "Come on" yelled Ben as we ran away from the fight, luckily the limousine that Yasmina drove us in when we escaped Kenji's casa was still there. I just hope it has gas. Ben opened the door as I entered, then Darius and Ben.

Ben closed the door and we hear a click, I turn and see that Darius had put on his seat belt. Ben looks at him weirdly and Darius says, "Reflex." Suddenly the limo shakes as the Scorpios hit it. Ben puts on the other seat belt, as did I. One got hit into the windshield and cracked it, they continue to ram and hit the limo. The Scorpios then start pushing and we scream as the limo starts to spin around. Finally the limo crashes into a tree and we are left handing, since the limo is now landed vertically on the trunk. Darius sighs in relief and Ben says, "Huh? Kenji forgot his hat" as he sees the captains hat.

Aleem POV

The boat was away from the dock, I was looking at the island from the control panel and Kenji was also there. "Aw, man. I left my captain's hat in the limo" he said. I look at him as Yasmina says, "Uh, Kenji? I think we have slightly bigger problems." Kenji responds, "I know, I know. We're heading back to the dock. Hopefully, the Scorpios has cleared out by now." Kenji then starts to drive the boat to the dock again.

Y/n POV

Ben manages to slam a door open as he asks frustrated, "How are there two of that thing?" Ben heads to the trunk read to climb down it. Darius answers, "My theory is that since the dinosaurs have other animals' DNA in their genetic code, like tree frogs, some of which reproduce asexually--" Ben stops him and says, "I meant that more as a rhetorical complaint, but thanks. The only thing more terrifying than one psycho dinosaur is two." He begins to climb down and continues, "They make more of themselves whenever they want." Ben reached the bottom and I started to climb down, I saw Darius had grabbed the captain's hat. Darius spoke as he climbed down, "You're right. No dinosaur, or kid, crazy enough to stay on this island stands a chance if the Scorpioses keep replicating.

 I added, "Plus the accelerated aging of their bodies." Darius then said, "We gotta do something fast." "They don't seem to get along. Maybe they'll take each other out?" asked Ben. Darius replied, "We can't count on that. I'm gonna stop them once and for all." Ben asked smiling, "So, how we gonna do it? With explosions?" I scoffed annoyed, "What's your problem with this fascination with explosions? When did you gain this even be obsessed with it?" Darius interjected before we could continue, "No. First, we need to disable them somehow. Knock them out maybe. To do that, we gotta go back to where it all began." Darius began walking and I followed as Ben asked, "And? Is there a part B to that idea? Like maybe blow something up?" I looked at him annoyed and said, "How about you forget about that?"

Aleem POV

Kenji finally docked and we disembarked onto the dock. While we walked something swiped in front of us and we scream, thinking the worse. But then I noticed it wasn't the hideous creature. "Just a stegosaurus" I said and everyone sighed in relief. "No Scorpios" said Brooklyn, "Yet" added Yasmina. "Oh, my gosh! Guys!" yelled Sammy who was up ahead. "What is it? Describe it with words" said Kenji not wanting to look. I just walked ahead as Yasmina responded with, "Oh, just walk over here, Kenji!" Sammy had found the limo but I cringed at how it was on a tree. "Oh, no. Darius, Y/n, and Ben?" asked Brooklyn. Sammy gasps and says. "They got away. Look!" she points at tracks which counts to three people.
