Chapter 49

Y/n POV

I watched at two other helicopters flew by, I heard Kenji yelled, "Yes, yes, yes! We are saved!" I could barely heard Darius ask, "Are we?" I looked at Aleem and said, "Let's join the others. We'll be able to hear them better." I nod and we walk to where we heard their voices. When we arrived they weren't there anymore, "Must be with the controls" I said as we started to climb up the stairs. While climbing I heard Darius's voice says, "I'm not exactly getting good guy vibes, Kenj." Then I heard Yasmina say, "Yeah, unmarked chopper, big, scary guns...", Kenji stopped her and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, what would you bring to rescue kids from an island full of killer dinosaurs? Cake?"

"He's got a point" I heard and I frowned and looked at Aleem. "It can't be. He left us-" Aleem got cut off as lighting strikes near and lights up everything. We finally reach the control room and stop. Ben was there, how, when, why?! He just glanced at me and then looked away. I frown an clench my teeth and also look away as Aleem looks outside. "The sea will be rough because of the storm" said Aleem. Darius sighs, "All right, then. We take our chances with the people in the helicopter?" Everyone nods and Darius let's Kenji start the engine to get us back to the dock. Once we arrive we get off and Brooklyn ties a rope so it won't drift away. We see the helicopter land and we run towards it covering our eyes from the rain.

A man steps out with a gun and looks around, we walk closer and I can hear the pilot say, "November Echo 7-6-5 we found a bunch of kids. Please advice. Over. Repeat, we have children here. Please advise.... Nothing!" The man started to help us board the helicopter as he asks, "What are you kids doing out here?" Sammy says, "Long story! Too long." Kenji adds, "Way too long!" I sat down and noticed Ben was to my left, great! I scoff and waited for Aleem to get on while Ben asks, "Wait, if you're not here to rescue us, then why are you here?" Rumbling was heard and the ground began to shake, then a roar that was all to familiar. The T-rex was near, the pilot freaked out and started to ascend.

She ascended, Sammy and Kenji stumbled as the helicopter rose up while leaving Aleem, Darius, Yasmina, and Brooklyn behind. "What are you doing?!" shouted Kenji, the T-rex grabbed the landing skids halting the ascent. Sammy almost falls out but Kenji managed to grab her, but he was about to also fall so I grabbed on too. Then I felt someone grab my waist and pull me back, it was Ben. I glared at him, he really has the nerve to grab me by the waist and not my arm. The pilot managed to break free form the bite of the T-rex and it stabilizes. The man ran and shouted, "Wait! Stop!", the pilot descended slightly but the T-rex got behind the man. He turns around and scream, then he tries to shoot but the T-rex bite before he could. Bone cracking is heard as we watch in terror.

The pilot screams at the scene and begins to ascend again, Kenji starts to shout, "No! No!" Brooklyn shouts, "Wait!" I shout, "No! They're leaving them behind!" Kenji yelled, "You can't just leave them! Go back! No! Stop!" The pilot didn't listen and continued on forward. Sammy tried asking, "How could you just leave them like that?" The pilot answers, "To keep us alive! You're welcome." Kenji responds, "You aren't thanked!" Ben adds, "We should've stayed on the boat!" I clench my teeth and grind them, I know they are capable but I'm still afraid for them. The pilot starts saying, "November Echo 7-6-5, there wan an attack. I have four kids on board. Hansen's... gone. Heading to rendezvous point. Over. Hello, do you copy?"

The storm must be affecting communication, I look down and gulp. I still hate heights. Lighting lights up the sky and thunder rumbles it as the pilot continues, "November Echo, do you copy?" Kenji got annoyed and shouted, "Lady, no one is copying! Just turn around and get our friends!" Sammy then started to beg, "Pretty, pretty please, please! I can keep going if it's working! Please! Pretty please, please?" The pilot stopped her, "Stop! We're not going back. The idea is to avoid threats." Kenji groans and grabs his head as Ben shouts, "The you might not wanna look out the window!" "What?" I asked and looked out only to get trauma and flashbacks.

"Pteranodons!" I shouted as Sammy and Kenji scream once they see them.

Pteranodons!

I just had to be pteranodons.
