Chapter 33

Y/n POV

Finally were getting of this island, we had managed to make a makeshift raft with items we found and it was functional. We watched as the we drifted farther from the island and it started to get smaller. "Goodbye, Jurassic World" said Darius as he looked back at the island. I see something moving in the distance and see that it was Bumpy running up to the beach of the island and she bellowed sadly. My smile fades from my face, but there was the fact that Bumpy needed to be left behind. I heard Ben say sadly "Goodbye, Bumpy." I turn to look at him and see him sniffle and look at the ocean sadly. Before I could do anything to comfort Ben, Kenji started to laugh and yell "See ya never, stupid Dino Island! You thought you could eat us? No way! You thought you could stomp us? Think again!"

Sammy joined in with Kenji and she said "You thought you could crush our spirits? Impossible!" Both of them high fived, well at least they are getting along well. Then Ben said "To be fair, the island did crush my spirit. But then I defeated Toro." Once he said that I could faintly hear Yasmina say "Not again." To be fair I'm also a bit tired of him saying that, especially when he says 'I', when in fact it was with help from Bumpy and me. He must have heard Yasmina say that because he then said "Well, Bumpy likes it when I tell it." Suddenly a rough wave hot the raft causing us the yell because of how it moved the raft, we almost fell off. "Um... guys?" asked Brooklyn as she looked in the direction that wave came from, and coming our way was a even bigger wave.

"Everyone, secure the vines!" yelled out Brooklyn as she grabbed a vine. Yasmina asked "How?" and Brooklyn responds with "I don't know. Pull on them?" Yasmina then yelled "You said you had raft experience!" Brooklyn yelled back saying "I said some raft experience. Some!" Yasmina then said "Oh! So only some of us will die." Aleem then yelled "Sarcasm at a time like this won't help! We all want to survive!" Brooklyn then said "The wind's strong. We can just power through." The makeshift sail flew of the wooden poles it was attached too. The wave got closer and we all screamed as the wave went over us, engulfing us in salty water and stopping our escape attempt.

~Time Skip~

The sky was a gloomy grey as we trekked through the jungle all soaked because of our failed escape of this island. While we walked Ben started to yell out "Bumpy? Bumpy, we're back! Bumpy?" I looked at Ben as he yelled that then I saw movement behind him and I have already guessed who that is. I stopped to look back and so did Ben as he yelled "Bumpy? Whoa!" Bumpy came out of the leaves so fast that she made both of us fall to the ground, then she started to nuzzle us with her head. Ben apologizes "Sorry, Bumps. Missed you, too." I smiled and pet her head and Ben rubbed her head. Darius voice is heard as he shouted "Circle up, guys! Camp meeting!" I turned and saw everyone climb into the tree house they built and Kenji said "Huh. Another one?"

I got up and gave Bumpy one last pet as I started to walk to the tree house. I stopped walking once I noticed that Ben wasn't coming so I yelled out "Come on Ben!" I heard Ben say to Bumpy "Don't worry. I'll be right back." Ben then climbed into the tree house and Darius started to meeting. "Okay, on the plus side, still no sigh of Compies around camp, so that's good. On the minus side, raft escape attempt number one was... " "Wet?" "Bad?" "Didn't work." Darius continued by saying "It wasn't a total disaster." Sammy spoke up by saying "Um, we lost the raft and almost drowned. How is that not a disaster?" Darius answered with a question "We didn't get eaten by dinosaurs?" But Brooklyn then said what we didn't want to hear "Darius, we're out of options. We tried kayaks, gyrospheres, more gyrospheres, Yaz's bad 'find a helicopter and learn to fly it ourselves' plan..." Brooklyn started to cross out those plans from the chalkboard.

Yasmina didn't like what Brooklyn said about her plan so she fired back with "Oh, and what about Brooklyn's worse 'let's go back into the tunnels and look for a phone' idea?" As Yasmina started to cross out other plans on the chalkboard. Brooklyn grabbed back the chalk and said "Ugh, Think! What haven't we tried yet?" Kenji then butted in and said "Just gonna pitch it one more time..." Yasmina then said "We're not building a human catapult." "How do we know it can't be done if we never tried?" asked Kenji. Sammy added on by saying "I think your idea sounds fun at least." Kenji thanks Sammy, "Thanks, Sammy. And I always appreciate your optimism." "Aw, thanks Kenji!" said Sammy and they both started laughing. Darius said "I hear you, but I still think a boat is the way to go. All we need is a better sail."
