Chapter 51

Y/n POV

We arrived as Sammy says, "No sign of ol' Rexy." "Yeah, but no sign of our friends either" said Ben. Kenji adds, "Maybe they're back on the boat." I look where the boat is and see the lights are off, "No signs of activity, I doubt they're there" I said. Rustling is heard and we see Yasmina, Darius and Aleem. "Look they're here!" shouted Sammy as she pointed at them. The three were panting as if they were running for a while and Darius was holding what seems like a laptop. We run to them, and I hug Aleem tightly as Ben says, "You're okay!" "We thought you left on that chopper!" said Darius almost of the verge of crying. "Hold up. Where's Brooklyn?" asked Kenji as he looked at all of us.

Darius, Aleem and Yasmina frown, it wasn't a good reaction. Aleem then said, "Dr. Wu is back and he wanted his laptop with all his research. We wanted to stop them so we took it but Brooklyn got caught by his men. We had to run before they also caught us." Kenji shouted, "You left her with them?!" Darius then said, "It's what Brooklyn wanted. We just need a plan to get her back." Kenji yelled, "Give them the stupid laptop. Plan done!" Kenji tries to take the laptop but Darius backs up, "It's not that easy. Everything that happened on the island, everything that went wrong, was because of Wu's research." Yasmina adds, "If he gets it back, who knows how many more Indominus or Scorpius rexes he'll make?"

"If we don't give it to them, who knows what they'll do to Brooklyn?" asked Kenji. Ben then said, "We don't have a choice. We have to give Wu the laptop." Darius must have thought of something, "Of course! We'll give it back after we copy and wipe it! We'll get Brooklyn, Dr. Wu gets nothing, and we turn him in to the cops once we reach Costa Rica!" Yasmina asks, "Okay, but how do we copy it?" Sammy outbursts, "A flash drive! I got one back at Camp Cretaceous!" Ben adds, "Then let's do this!" We start to head to our little camp and I hear Darius tell Kenji, "Trust me, Kenj, this'll work." He softly says, "It better."

Once we arrived Sammy started to search our camp. Yasmina climbs up and I follow her with the laptop in hand and asks, "Well, is it still there?" Sammy shouts, "Still here!" and raises her hand to show us. Sammy adds, "I used to think Brooklyn smacking on all that gum was just plain rude. But it sure did come in handy for hiding stuff." I grimaced as Sammy took of the chewed gum from the flash drive and Yasmina adds, "Almost forgot my friend was an international super-spy." I set the laptop down and open it, "Great it still has battery." Sammy passes me the flash drive and I activate the command, "This should work." It seems to start working and Sammy shouts, "It's copying, y'all!"

I look at the screen and say, "It's going to take a while". The screen was slowly loading. "Well I've leave you two at it, I want to hear Darius plan" I say as I leave them with the laptop and go to hear what Darius is telling the others. "So if you're here, and Brooklyn and the bad guys exit the jungle there, then the rest of us should hide over here." Ben adds, "If your plan turns out as good as this model, we're in great shape." Kenji wasn't having it, "Great shape? Are you kidding? What if they figure out we messed with the laptop? What happens to Brooklyn then?" Darius answers, "They won't. Before Dr. Wu even gets a chance to boot up the laptop" Ben jumps in,  "I'll come in with a distraction. It's kind of my thing now."

"While the rest of us rescue Brooklyn. After that, we head to the boat and get the heck off this island, once and for all" finished Darius. Kenji not being in the mood, "Sure, what could go wrong, except, I don't know, everything?" Darius speaks back, "Not if we all stick to the plan. Now, come on, help me find the fastest route to that helicopter." Kenji frowns and I see Aleem was either really invested into analyzing the model or her was trying to ignore Ben next to him. I look at Ben and explicitly say, "That distraction better not be another explosion of yours." Kenji left to check on the laptop and I could hear him saying, "Come on!" But Sammy then says, "Uh, Kenj, I'm not sure it's gonna go any faster just because you tell it to."

"We're running out of time. They gave us two hours! How long has it already been?" asked Kenji. Yasmina answered, "Thirty seconds since the last time you asked." Sammy shouts, "The good news is it's done copying!" Kenji chuckles and tries to reach for it, "Well, then let's go!" Yasmina slaps his hand and says, "But wiping it is gonna take at least another hour. But we should just make it in time." Kenji questions, "'Should' make it?" "We'll make it" corrected Darius as he arrived with the others. "Have a little faith, Kenji. Besides, I'm about to go round up some extra help" said Ben quite cockily. Yasmina snickers, "Extra help? From who?" Ben adds, "The only dinosaur on the island we can trust." Aleem walks pass him and says, "He's talking about his daughter."

I giggle at what he said, that was funny how...

How were her parents...

Yet not together...

I sigh and frown, now being in a slightly sour mood, I'm gonna follow him.
