Chapter 18

Aleem POV

I wake up in cold sweat from that nightmare. I gasp and breath slowly to calm down. It was dark outside but the moon was shining bright. I look to my left and see Darius and Yasmina, Darius look shook and Yasmina seemed to be comforting him. I looked around and saw everyones else sleeping, I sighed softly, so they wouldn't notice I was awake. I close my eyes but hear them talk.

"I have to find that beacon, I just need to try harder, I can find it if I try harder" said Darius. Then Yasmina out of know where said "Push-ups". "Ok, that is the last time I will eat unthawed pizza, cause boy is this dream getting weird" Darius said weirded out. "When I race, I pressure myself. 'Go faster, work harder', somtimes that's gokd, but sometimes I get so stuck in my head that I can't see what is happening in front of me. So we lossen up, free our minds", Yasmina kept speaking but I kinda zoned out while closing my eyes.

After some seconds I heard them walk away. I open my eyes in confusion, and see them walk away somewhere. Where are they going? I decide to get up because sleep had left me. As I follow quietly behind them, I see a sign thats says "Jurassic World. Discovery Walk". As I look around not letting them know I'm there. I see there seems to be plaques with dinosaurs facts, probably facts I already know. But Darius seems so excited and Yasmina looks bored. I smiled at them and decide to walk back and not startle them.

~Time Skip~

"Look, we already looked here" said Kenji. "We looked, but we didn't look" responded Darius. I was confused and I'm pretty sure my face showee it. "It's like Sammy was saying things are disguised as other things. We never saw the beacon because it was camouflaged" Darius elaborated. Now I understand, after that we all separated and started to look around more carefully. After sometime we discovered metallic trees which contain stuff inside, we now have a lead.

We all go and open them to see what is inside, but to our disappointment most were empty. Kenji decides to speak about this "All aboard the fail-boat. ~laughs~ The rest of these are all empty, broseph". "This one is missing" said Darius as he looked at a ripped one missing the whole top side. I walk towards him to look and see drag marks on the floor that led to and wide open doors and far beyond. Before we could say anything a snarl was heard and we all gasp in fear and suprise.

Then metal scrapping is heard and we see how a T-rex is dragging the fake-tree somewhere outside. As we watch it plop it on other trees and roars. "A T-rex nest" I whisper as I realise what it is. "We are witnessing new behaviors from them, this is great!" Darius excitedly said loudly. But most of us looked at him, basically saying 'not the time'. "This is bad, the nest is right on Main Street" I responed after looking. "It's about to get worse, look" Brooklyn pointed out. And behold the beacon is there, definitely not in a prehistoric animals nest.

We groan at the discovery. More snarls and roars come from the Rex. Kenji questions, "How are you supposed to get to the beacon now?" Darius shot back, "Don't you mean 'we'?" Kenji responds, "No cause I want to live, and living does not involve me walkinh into a T-Rex nest!" Sammy then asks, "So does this mean we can't signal folks and tell them we are still here?" Kenji then speaks, "Great, try to spend a little time being normal kids, and it still ends up biting us in the butts. I ~sighs~".

"I just wanted 24 hours where we didn't have to think about dinosaurs, or being left behind, or, or....... or Ben and Y/N" spoke Kenji sadly. I shake my head to try and get the tears to not form in my eyes as I look at the f/c backpack and fanny-pack. "Hey we can't give up now, I know it seems hopeless, but there is always an answer. We just have to get out of our own heads to see it." As Darius finishes speaking stomping is heard. This must be our chance.

"Kenji, were there any more walkies in the gift shop?" asks Darius. Kenji thinks and responds "yes". I get up and everyone looks at me. "I'm going with you two" I said assertively. "Aleem are you sure you want to go?" Darius questions me. I breath and exhale, "You two are going to need more help". And I smiled a bit.

~Time Skip~

"Cost is clear. Go for it!" We hear Sammy from the walkies. We nod towards each other and got ready. We scaled down the wall to reach the ground. As we hugged the wall Kenji makes and unnecessary remark "I hate this". To which I roll my eyes and remark back "No, I 'love this' Kenji". I frowned to show I wasn't being truthful. Then we made a run for it, towards the nest. We start climbing the nest to reach the beacon. Darius first who almost slips, me second trying not to fall, since Kenji is behind me and starts complaining that next time he will sprain his ankle to stay behind. I chuckle silently, so he wouldn't hear me.

Then us three reach where the beacon is on the literal top of the nest. We stumble but manage to be somewhat stable as we uncovered it from other woods. As they try to pull it out, it wouldn't budge. "The T-Rex must have damaged the housing, I can't get it out" Kenji said. I look at Kenji and retorted, "Can't we just activate it I don't think it's necessary to take it out." Now we are trying to open it. I hear Kenji whimper as he grabs what appears to be part of the skull of an animal, to try and pry it open.

We continue try strain ourself to try and open this dang thing. Finally we open it but we fall back hitting ourselfs. As we got a bit ezcited distant stomping shakes the ground. Oh no, we have to be fast. I try to climb back to the beacon while Darius and Kenji try to hide. I hiss and I got a splinter in my left hand from the wood scraps. But as I almost reach it, the stomps are getting closer. I look back and that was a mistake because the T-Rex is getting closer. But then we hear, "What's up, Brooklanders!?" and the T-Rex start walking towards the voice.

3rd POV

As Rexy approaches where the voice originated she saw two people standing there. One with pink hair, the other had black hair. As Rexy roars and charges towards them, Aleem final get the the beacon, tho a bit in pain. He switches the switch and it beeps as the words "Signal Sent" appears, Aleem smile triumphantly. Rexy gets the the three roars and stomps on them. Then the voice is heard again, "You want exclusive footage? And here it is! And there is nobody better than me to show it to you." As Rexy looks at the cutouts curiously and confused as well. She smells it and snarls, then roars in anger.

~Time Skip~

All the campers are running in happiness. They all start celebrating and yelling excitedly that they will final be saved. Somewhere in main street beeping is heard as the beacon shows the words "Signal Received".
