Chapter 50

A/n: Double Update, kinda short to be honest :L, especially when only following one perspective.

Y/n POV

"Pteranodons!" I shouted as Sammy and Kenji scream once they see them.

Pteranodons!

I just had to be pteranodons.

The pilot screams and tries to avoid them but there's a flock of them following us. The pilot continues onward as the pteranodons snarl and get near the helicopter. One even manages to land on the landing skid. One runs into the side window and cracks it as Sammy scream and leans into Kenji. I grabbed my head as I got a headache from the trauma of almost dying to those creatures. "Turn off the lights!" shouted Ben and the pilot said, "Are you crazy?" Kenji backed Ben up, "Pteranodons are attracted to the light!" Another one slams into the helicopter causing it to shake harshly. "Trust me. I've- I mean we've got up-close experience with this sort of thing. Real up-close." Ben stares at her and I think did he just include me into what he said?

The pilot finally caves-in and turns off the light, now we just wait and see. The flock of pteranodons started to fly away having nothing interesting to go after. The pilot starts to breath fast then stops, "It worked! How long have you kids been out here?" Sammy asks, "Um, well, when did they evacuate Jurassic World?" The pilot answers, "Um, I guess about six months ago." We all gasp surprised at the amount of time that had passed. "Wow" said Ben, "That long?" asked Sammy. "Check us out!" said Kenji, and I said, "Half a year?!" The pilot looked back at us and said, "Hey, sorry I doubted you." A brachiosaurus pops it head up and the pilot screams, she tries to dodge it but causes the helicopter to swirl.

I spins fast as an alarm sounds and we all scream, until it finally crashes and I black out. I groan as I finally come to and open my eyes slowly. I heard a gasp and saw Kenji was awake. I saw that our arms and legs were hanging, my eyes widen when I realized we must be in a tree. "Guys? Wake up! Sammy?" shouted Kenji. He unbuckles and falls as he grabs on. "Kenji!" I shouted as he looks up at me, then he climbs onto the side. He tries to grab a vine but the helicopter shakes and goes down a little. "Kenji! Stop moving!" I yelled, then I heard a gasp next to me and saw Sammy woke up. I heard Ben yelp, which meant he also woke up. He tries to take the belt off and shakes, the helicopter falls more as we scream.

Kenji grip slips but Sammy managed to grab him on time. Kenji looks around the cockpit and then Sammy pulls him back up. "Where's the pilot?" asked Sammy, Kenji looks back down, I look and see no one. "She... must have been thrown off during the crash" I said. I look left and see Ben grabbing a vine with his foot, "Careful, Ben!" shouted Sammy. The helicopter goes down more, "Ben! These vines won't continue holding the helicopter!" I shouted. He manages to grab the vine and brings it to us, we all grab on. "Now, we just have to..." said Ben as Kenji says, "Don't say it." "Jump" added Sammy, the helicopter goes down slightly, "I just hope it holds" I said.

"Guys?" said Ben as we look up and see that the vines are starting to stretch to their breaking point. "Jump, jump, jump!" shouted Ben, we jump and scream as the vine snaps and the helicopter falls to the ground. It explodes, sending smoke up to us. We hang from the vine as Kenji laughs, "Yes! Oh, my-" he got cut off as thunder was heard and lighting shined. We slowly slid down from the vine. Ben landed first and helped me down as he grabbed my waist, I glared at him as he just looks away sadly. Kenji was next and Sammy was the last to get off the vine. "I love it when we're alive!" said Sammy as she hugs the three of us separately. Kenji adds, "But I'll feel even better once I know everyone else is alive, too."

"Let's go back to the dock. If they got away from the T-rex, they'll probably head to the boat." said Ben. I add, "I just hope they were fast enough...", we start to head in that direction when Kenji says, "Don't say 'if'." Sammy grabs his shoulder and smiles, he smiles back. We continue walking, as the fire from the explosion starts to die down due to the heavy rain. I hug myself, hoping I don't get sick from the rain and getting cold. Ben leads the way, I was behind him, finally Sammy and Kenji were behind me. But I couldn't get rid of the feeling of having holes burned into my head. I snapped my neck back and see Sammy and Kenji staring at me then they look away. "What is it?" I asked as I saw them look back at me and Ben. "Nothing" said Sammy and smiles nervously, "Nothing at all" said Kenji also nervous.

They must be thinking about Ben and me, and how our relationship is. But right now I don't even want to think about it, I want to get back to the rest. To get back to my brother, I need to know he's safe. But the way Ben had been looking at me, regret. That's all I see, but I won't look his way. It's his fault for picking those decisions, I just want to get off this forsaken island once and for all.
