Chapter 29

Aleem POV

Kenji was trying to explain to Yasmina about Y/n and Ben. "You need to know--" but he got cut up by Yasmina saying "No time. We have to figure out Darius' plan." Brooklyn the asked "What? He's taking Tiff and Mitch to Main Street?" I know what Darius is doing. "Guy don't you see Darius is leading them--" I got interrupted when a big ankylosaurus suddenly came through the bushes. I got scared because it was to dark to see if it was any ankylosaurus or if it was Bumpy. Yasmina screamed and fell to the ground when the ankylo got close to her. "Bumpy?" asked Yasmina when she looked at her closly. Ben jumped off of Bumpy and said "Hey", while Y/n stayed on her and waved at Yasmina. Ben noticed Yasmina staring at both him and Y/n so he cleared his throat as said "Yasmina." Suddenly Yasmina pulled Ben into a hug as she laughed and Ben snarked "You're a hugger now, Fadoula?"

Yasmina let go and said "Still have mixed feelings about it, but I... you're..." and she hugged him again. I looked up at Y/n and saw her with a annoyed face, is it because she is hugging him a lot? What is she jealous of her? Since when does she jealous of other girls? Brooklyn talked to Yasmina, Y/n and Ben "Yeah we have been trying to tell you about it, but in more pressing news, Darius isn't taking the hunters to the watering hole." I finally decided to speak "Exactly, he decide to take them straight to the T-rex's nest." Y/n surprised jumped off Bumpy and looked at the map then she said "Why would he take them there? That's a death trap!"

Y/n POV

Kenji came and answered my question "Home court advantage. Darius and Sammy know the terrain, and Tiff and Mitch don't. It'll be easier to lose them on Main Street than in the jungle." That sounds like a good idea but I'm still worried about the T-rex nest that Aleem said was there. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go help them!" yelled Yasmina. "Yes! Y/n, Bumpy and I are ready to roll" said Ben as he grabbed his spear. "Uh-uh. Big problemo There's no way we'll make it to Main Street before they do" Kenji stated. "Well there is one obvious shortcut" said Brooklyn to Kenji. Kenji got uncomfortable when Brooklyn mentioned that and he said angrily "Down there? You must be joking. Don't you remember last time? Not only is it super dark and creepy, but we nearly died! Nope. No go for Kenji." What they almost died where?

~Time Skip~

Down in the tunnels we are as Kenji is in the front of the motorbike with Brooklyn and Yasmina behind. While I'm on Bumpy with Aleem and Ben behind me. Aleem is with us because there's no mreo space on the motorbike. Aleem is between Ben and me, as he looks annoyed at Ben, I wonder what up with him. "Left! Now right! Right!" screamed Kenji who is guiding us to Main Street, Brooklyn made very sharp turns. "Could you maybe take some of those turns a little less murdery!?" Kenji yelled. Then suddenly Brooklyn braked as some bars were ahead. I saw Kenji fall of the motorbike exhausted. Ben got off Bumpy and said "Let's take this down, Bumps." He banged the spear onto the bars, I was going to lead her to it while she ran but I felt someone grab me and jump off. Both Aleem and me fell of as Bumpy tries to hit the bars with her tail and fails to take them down.

I groaned as I got up and glared at Aleem for making us fall off Bumpy. "What!? You could have gotten hurt." Aleem scolded me. I the background I could hear Bumpy and Ben trying to break down the bars but failing. Then Yasmina taunts by saying "Yeah, I don't think Wild Child and his Amazing Dino are gonna punch through the gate." I tried to glare at Yasmina for mocking us but I was to busy with Aleem to notice them try again to break down the bars. "Why are you acting like this Aleem? You have never been this protective of me, why now!?" I yelled at Aleem. "I don't want to lose you again! Not after think you were dead for many days to only just see you alive and acting different with Ben. Don't you know how that feels? It rips you apart? And Ben why are you acting so differently with him, I don't like how he is acting now!" yelled Aleem ranting.

I was about to yell back at him for talking bad about Ben and me but then I notice tears on his face. Since we were behind the other they didn't notice out arguing as they tried to find a way to take down the bars. My anger disappeared when I saw his tears, I tried to go and hug him but he pushed me away. "No stay away. Go back to you boyfriend" he said his voice wavering. I back away from him saddened that he rejected my tried at comforting him. I looked at him as he hugs himself, I never really thought how it must have felt to him thinking that his younger sister was dead. I turn my back to him as I heard a weird clanging noise. "What-What is that?" asked Ben. "There it is again" said Brooklyn as a low whirring was heard. Brooklyn started walking towards the noise as we all decided to follow her. I looked at Aleem and saw a sadden face as he wiped away his tears, then he saw me looking at him and made a neutral face.

Then in the distant shines a red light which is similar to the other ones she used the key card with. She walks towards the door and puts her ear to listen. "If there's electricity down here, we could find a way to raise that gate. We gotta follow that hum" inquires Brooklyn and she used the card which unlocks the door. The door opens ad steam comes out with a hiss and we are flooded with red light. We entered and I started shivering at how cold it is here. "Whoa it's cold enough in here to--" Ben got cut off by Brooklyn saying "To freeze flowers." Ben then asked "Is that a thing people say now?" Aleem passed him and said "No" in a monotone voice. Ben then turned to Bumpy and me and said "We did miss a lot" and we continued walking.

We all walked as we shivered at how cold it is here. Brooklyn ran to a door she saw and listened then she yelled "It's coming form here!" She then proceeds to unlock the door, we walk in the dark room and see some type of control system. "Wow. What is all this?" asked Yasmina. Then Kenji appears to have a realization "Oh, snap! This must be, like, some kind of secret backup power center! My dad might not even know about this place." Brooklyn then spoke "We gotta find a way to raise that gate and get to Sammy and Darius. Start looking!" Then she sat down on a office chair, we all started looking around. "We gotta get the power on!" yelled Yasmina. "None of these are the right buttons!" screamed Ben. Brooklyn then spoke "Oh! One of them has to be. I once helped a Dutch seamstress find an actual needle in an actual haystack. I can find this."

Wow what an accomplishment. I look at Aleem to see how he is doing and saw him next to Kenji with something that has and electricity symbol on it. Kenji struggled to pry it open, he back away as Aleem with a bored expression presses something on it which cause the it to open up easily. Kenji chuckles as Aleem looked at him boredly. Kenji started fiddling with what appear to be a generator and then suddenly the lights turn on. Everyone gasps as the lights turn on. Then every screen and button started lighting up. "Kenji, you did it!" said Brooklyn and Kenji responded with "Natch!" Well at least we solve that problem, now we need to find a way to help Darius and Sammy away from those hunters I heard them talking about, Tiff and Mitch. I look at Aleem sadly, maybe after this we could talk it out and reconcile.
