Chapter 55

Y/n POV

We walked through the cave until we reached a bright light, my eyes widened when I saw a desert area. "Okay, so... definitely not Costa Rica" said Brooklyn softly. "It looks more like... Australia. No way we went that far, though. Right?" said Darius. Kenji grabbs Darius face and he asks, "Kenji, what are you doing?" He answered, "Making sure we're not dead. 'Cause if we're dead, we'd be ghosts, and if we're ghosts, I'd be able to like... Ooh, go through you." Darius slaps his hand away and exclaims, "We're not dead!" Kenji shoots back, "Well, now you know. You're welcome." Brooklyn states, "So, we know where we aren't. Any idea where we are?"  We all started to walk down the sides slowly.

"Nope. Just that we're stranded. And alone. Again" said Yasmina. That was really helpful of you. "We just gotta assess the situation" said Darius. Ben then spoke, "Hey, guys! Look at that! Over there in the distance. Something shiny!" he slides down the rocks and points in a direction. I look and squint my eyes, it was really shiny. "I see it! Looks like the sun is glinting off some sort of... metal thingy?" said Sammy. Ben exclaimed, "Something metal could mean someone had to make it. We gotta go check it out." Kenji objects, "Hang on. You wanna go walking across a blazing hot desert just because you saw something shiny?" Darius adds, "We have no idea what's out there."

"Oh, my sweet frightened children. So, we're not in 'Costa Rica'. And we don't know 'where we are'. And we have 'no hope'. We didn't know how we were gonna survive on Nublar and yet, we did. By sheer will, determination, and teamwork. There aren't even dinosaurs here! So logically, this should be easier. So, let's go out there and, you know, survive!" Ben finally finished his speech, though honestly I thought he was about to make himself look like the master survivalist. Brooklyn sighs, "Why not?", "We can at least try" said Sammy. None of us had the motivation. Darius grabbed Ben's shoulder and said, "Good speech, Ben" as everyone else slid down the side.

We walked across the desert and I heard Kenji say, "This place is weird. It's like another planet or something. Oh, maybe we were abducted by aliens." Brooklyn laughs and pushes him away, "Because that makes perfect sense." He chuckles, "No, that... that... No, that'd be dumb. It's dumb. Never mind. What? No, you shut up." He seemed so nervous as he grabbed his neck and rubbed it. Yasmina then had to add her part, great. "'Cause dinosaurs weren't enough, now we're washed up on some deserted island." Aleem whispered annoyed, "Definitely wasn't obvious enough." Ben tried to lighten it up, "Well, at least it's a nice day?"

"At least, there aren't any mosquitoes here" said Sammy. Yasmina adds, "Yeah. At least, we're not being tortured for eternity by vampires!" Kenji wanted to add, "Oh, I got one! At least it's like the beach but with no ocean." Sammy then said, "Oh, that's a good one!" Yasmina had to say something unnecessary, "Eh. Needs more vampires." I scoffed and whispered, "Seems she wants there to be vampires." Aleem just grimaced and shrugged, "Honestly I don't even know. After spending time together, never liked her. Big mistake on my desperate part." I chuckles softly, "Maybe next time, maybe next time."

~Time Skip~

The sun beamed hotly onto us as we continued walking. They continues saying idiotic stuff and I'm just annoyed at it. "At least we aren't being tortured by demons in a fiery pit of fire" said Yasmina tired from the heat. Brooklyn asked Yasmina, "Are you sure about that?" We continued walking until there was wind and Sammy asked as she looked back, "Uh... Guys?" I look back and gasp as I see a sandstorm heading our way. "Sandstorm! We need to be quick!" yelled Aleem. Sammy asks, "What do we do?" "We need to find cover" yelled Darius. Ben shouted, "We always outran those pesky storms on Nublar! Run!" We started to run but it was no use the sandstorm was starting to surround us.

I pulled my shirt up to cover my nose and mouth as the sand engulfed me. "Everyone! Where did you do?!" I shouted as I couldn't see anything. "Y/n!" I heard as I felt someone grab my shoulder and shielded my eyes slightly, I looked and saw Aleem. He was also covering his nose and mouth. We started to walk and we saw Ben with Darius and Sammy with Yasmina. "Wait! Where are Kenji and Brooklyn?" asked Sammy. "Kenji?! Brooklyn?! Where are you guys?!" shouted Ben.

"Brooklyn!"

"Kenji?"

"Brooklyn?"

"Kenji!"

Darius almost fell into a canyon in the ground and we all grabbed and pulled. We all almost fell in with him but luckily we managed to pull us back to above ground. "Thanks" said Darius and he looked at a jacket he had in his hands, Brooklyn's jacket. "It's her jacket!" shouted Sammy. I looked down but the sand blocked me from seeing anything in the canyon, which was much smaller then expected. "She must be around here somewhere. Now, all we gotta do is... find them" said Darius as the sandstorm dissipated. We walked and continued trying to find them, at least the storm was gone. I rubbed my eyes as sand had gotten in and it was super irritating.

"I hate to say it, but maybe we should stop for the night?" asked Sammy, she was holding Brooklyn's jacket. Ben yelled at her, "No, we have to keep going!" Yasmina said, "We might dind an opening into the canyon if we look for-" she got cut of by Ben, "There's no time for that!" Darius tried to calm him down, "Look, the ground slopes down a ways ahead. Let's see if we can get around and find another way in there." Ben looked ahead and started to run and so we did as well. Once we got to the slopes we slide down but there was a wall of rock, a dead end. "No, no!" shouted Ben as he slammed his fists into the wall. Ben slides down the wall and sits down saying, "It's all my fault."

I sit down next to him and say, "It's not your fault, we never expected a sandstorm to develop even with out luck." I tried to grab his shoulder but he pushes me away and I let my hand fall to my side. "Why so sad?" I gasped and look in the direction of the voice. Kenji and Brooklyn were there, how I don't know but they managed themselves. "You guys!" yelled Ben as he ran to them and hugged them. They laughed and Brooklyn said, "Yep! Strongman Kenji pushed an entire boulder out of the way." Kenji chuckles and grabs his neck, "It was nothing. Not a big deal." Darius must have sense what we all did because he said, "Wait, Kenji's not taking credit for something cool he did?"

He tried to play it off and says, "And.. we've got more good news!" Brooklyn puts on her jacket when Sammy handed over to her. Both Kenji and Brooklyn started to walk us somewhere, there was a quite large puddle and water dripped into it. "Ta-da!" said Brooklyn, we all cheered and ran to it. We started to drink water and a lot. "I've never been so thirsty in my whole life!" said Sammy. Kenji gave some information, "The weird thing is we heard water pipes in the caverns. Somebody built this." "But why?" asked Darius, "And where are they now?" asked Yasmina as if they knew. "No idea, but if we can find that shiny thing, maybe we'll get some answers" said Brooklyn.

Interesting, maybe there are some man-made structures on this island. I washed my face and sighed in relief, this was super refreshing.
