Chapter 34

Y/n POV

Ben and me were finishing the sled and I decided to ask him "Ben what is really bothering you?" He just looked at me and said "Nothing" but I continued questioning him "Ben you can tell me. You trust me right. Right?" He just looked somewhere else beside my eyes, he definitely has something he needs to say. I spoke softly as I grabbed his hand, "Ben you can tell me what's bothering you. Please let it out." He turned his head to look at me and he nods. "I don't want to leave Bumpy again" he said quietly to me as he has a saddened look on his face. I frown once I heard what he said and he continued "She won't fit on any raft so she has to stay here, because there is no other way. But I don't want to leave her behind."

He sighs and says "When we got back to camp and I saw her, I realized it was a mistake to leave her. She's always been there for... us and then... we just abandoned her? I can't.... do it again." Bumpy seems to sense his sadness and nuzzles him as he hugs her face and he sniffles. "Ben don't think you're the only one reluctant leave Bumpy because I also don't want to leave her. We both been there for her as some sort of figures to her. But I can't deny that she will be okay without us." Ben says "Of course she will, she's a survivor. It's just... I don't know if I'll be okay." He rubs the tears from his eyes as he looks at me. My lips move up a little but fall back down as I grab both of his hands. "It's okay Ben. There just things that we need to accept and things that we can't always do."

Aleem POV

Darius and me are struggling to a hang glider up. We stop and Darius ducks down and sees to see what is holding it down. "There's a lock and chain" he said as I duck and see what he said. I get back up and hear grunting and see Brooklyn and Yasmina trying to lift another hang glider. Both seem to be trying to one up the other as I see Yasmina walk away looking for something. I decide to follow her to see where she goes as Darius follow me as well. I gasp once I see multiple nests around the place. "These nests look like-" I couldn't finish my sentence when the mother of the eggs landed. "Dimorphodon!" both Darius and me screamed out. It screeches at us and we run to the gondolas. Brooklyn yelled to Sammy and Kenji "We gotta get out of here!"

Then a Dimorphodon landed in front of us and growled at us. Suddenly another one came flying is and started getting closer to Sammy and Kenji as it snarled at them. The Dimorphodon started to screech loudly and my eyes widened once I realied what it was doing. "It calling in other ones!" I yelled as the sky started to fill up with them. The one in front of us jumped at us and we ran away from it. Two started to stalk us down till we got to the hand gliders. Brooklyn and Yasmina went under a hang gliders, I managed to get Darius  under another one with me. I saw that the lock was unlocked, thank goodness Brooklyn unlocked more then one hang glider. I looked down and realized that there was only one way down from here.

I heard Brooklyn and Yasmina screams as I seem them go off on one of the hang gliders. I looked at the hang glider and said "Darius we need to get out of here." He nods scared and we grab the hand glider and jump off. We scream as we fell the air rushing past us but then the hang glider lifted up and we were gliding. "We didn't get away yet" Darius said, I grit my teeth knowing that the Dimorphodon will chase us down in the air. I look down and see Bumpy as well as Y/n and Ben who are break away from a hug to look up at us. I'm not sure if I can see there shocked faces from up here but I'm sure they were. "Darius we need to lean so we can dodge them" I say and we started leaning left and right to dodge the Dimorphodons.

But it wasn't good enough because because one managed to get on the glider and made a hole in it. The hang glider started to get unstable as we started to descend rapidly. Both of us screamed as we tried to dodge trees and get the Dimorphodon off the gliders. I heard distant screams and saw that the same thing had happened to Brooklyn and Yasmina.

Y/n POV

We started running in the direction that the hang gliders were going to because we knew we had to help them especially when I realized Dimorphodon we chasing them down. I saw the two hang gliders crash into trees and screamed "Aleem! Darius! Brooklyn! Yasmina!" I continued running but heard Ben yell out my name "Y/n" then he pushed me to the ground as a Dimorphodon swoop down trying to get us. We landed on the ground, I coughed a little since the wind got knocked out of me. I looked up and saw the Dimorphodon swooped down at us. But before it could get to us Bumpy hit it away as she growled at it. I got back up and snarled at us but both me and Ben grabbed sticks and started screaming at it.

It got scared and flew away and Bumpy nuzzled both of us. "Wow!" "That was very impressive wild cards." We looked behind us and saw Brooklyn and Yasmina walking towards us, nonchalantly as if they didn't crash into a tree. But then Brooklyn said "I mean, not as impressive as me and Yaz literally flying away from danger, but..." Brooklyn stopped as Yasmina high-fived and they laugh. But didn't Aleem and Darius also fly away from danger. I heard running and saw Sammy and Kenji running at us. Sammy says "Oh, I love it when we're all alive!" Kengi then says "Yeah! Take that, Dino Island!" They started hugging each other but I got on Bumpy and started running to the direction I saw Aleem and Darius crash into. "Y/n, Bumpy where are you going!" yelled Sammy, I look back and yelled "To get Darius and my brother!"

I heard more yelling but I ignored them. I can't believe they thought everyone was there. How could they not see that Darius and Aleem weren't there. How could Brooklyn and Yasmina say that as if escaping danger was a competition. Tears welled up into my eyes and the wind blew them away. After a bit Bumpy stopped running as we got to a rocky shore. I gasped once I saw the hang glider ensnared on some rocks. I got off Bumpy and walked carefully on the rocks. I looked under the ripped hang glider but saw nothing. I looked at the rocks beneath and what I saw frightened me. There was blood on the rocks and it was fresh from and injury. The rock was sharp and jagged, I started to breath hard. If they aren't hear they must be underwater.

I gasped for air and jumped into the cool water. The salt stinged my eyes as I saw both of them slowly floating to the bottom of the rocky beach. My eyes widen when I saw both Aleem and Darius bleeding from their legs, it tainted the water. As I swam deeper I realized that I can only grab one of them at the time. But who should I grab, some tears escape my eyes as I grab Darius. My brother is heavier and I would need help to swim up. I swam to the surface and dragged Darius onto a flat rock. I heard rustling and saw Ben as he panted from running so fast. "Ben help me!" I yelled as I dove back into the water. I heard a splash and saw Ben had also jumped in to the water. His eyes widened when he saw Aleem and we saw deep to get to him. We both grabbed him and brought him to the surface.

We managed to drag him next to Darius, but both weren't breathing. I never learned how to preform CPR, now what do I do. I saw Ben start to do chest compressions on Darius and I followed what he did carefully with Aleem. Then he started to administer rescue breaths and I did the same. Then Ben went back to doing chest compressions and I followed suit. Darius sat up and started to cough up water then Aleem woke up and coughed up water too. Both of them started to breath heavily and they calmed down. They breathed and coughed a little as they started to shiver from the cold breeze. We didn't have any clothing to change them with so I started to hug them to warm them up and so did Ben. Once they stopped shivering I asked them "Are you guys alright? You don't feel anything off."

Both shake their head 'no' not wanting to speak. Maybe they just want to breath, it would be best after that near-death experience. "N/n look" said Ben as he pointed somewhere on the water. I looked as the a yacht, wait! The is the yacht we saw Tiff go on, why is it stuck there on some rocks farther way from the shore. "Ben where are the others?" I asked him. He looked at me solemnly as he said "Their getting ready to get to the Yacht, and they going to bring swimwear for themselves and us." I furrowed my eyebrows and said "Where are they getting the swimwear from?" Ben shrugged as he looked at the water splash on to the rocks. "So they are coming this way?" I asked. He nods and says "Sammy and Kenji said they saw it from up there."

I shake my head at how they didn't realizes all of us weren't there. I stare out onto the water as I hear Aleem breathing deeply and so does Darius. I'm not sure if I can be happy after what just happened. Especially when Brooklyn and Yasmina started to boast about escaping danger. I frown and look out into the ocean and sky and gloomy clouds start to roll over us. The ocean will get rough soon, I discerned. It won't be easy to get to the Yacht nor do I think some of us want to get into the water. Hopefully they arrive soon, though I'm not to happy with them.
