Chapter 39: The Westminster Incident
Hart returned to his team in front of Westminster Abbey.
In this team composed entirely of paladins, an old paladin with white hair patted Hart on the shoulder and said.
"What, doing good deeds again?"
"Captain, I tested him. That silly rookie doesn't even know about the Necromancer Guild.
He's not a cultist attracted by the abnormality."
"Alright, as long as he doesn't approach Westminster Abbey, you keep an eye on him. Once this transfer is over, you don't need to be so tense."
"Got it. I'll get that little guy out of here first."
As Hart spoke, he summoned a young man dressed as a priest in front of his captain.
"This is my token. I can't leave now. You help me find the '1742 Round Table Knight Relics Transfer Record' from the library archive."
"Okay!" The young priest took the token and quickly ran into Westminster Abbey.
At this time, Gu Xi, in a nearby alley near the square, also noticed something different.
Knowing he would have to wait a long time, Gu Xi found a place to sit and planned to drink something.
But for some reason, just as he ordered a glass of wheat juice, he was targeted.
Two men passing by suddenly accelerated and one in front and one behind, bumped into Gu Xi, pushing him against the tavern wall.
Gu Xi was about to ask what was going on when the two men grabbed his arms and one reached out to hold Gu Xi's nose.
Their movements were swift, and they used their bodies to block the view of others, so no one noticed what was happening.
But Gu Xi reacted even faster. As the two men grabbed his arms, bone spurs shot out from Gu Xi's fingertips, piercing their necks.
This was Gu Xi's reflex.
He didn't care about the environment; if someone attacked him, he would retaliate lethally.

"Cultist?"
Seeing the notification, Gu Xi exclaimed.
He never expected that with just his reaction, everyone around him jumped up.
Some drew their weapons and shouted, "What cultist? Where?"
Others silently drew their weapons and rushed towards Westminster Abbey.
Seeing this, Gu Xi realized.
There was an incident at Westminster Abbey today.
It should be related to the transfer of Knight Bows as Hart mentioned.
It seemed the cultists planned to steal something from Westminster Abbey, but Gu Xi was puzzled why they attacked him.
Gu Xi didn't understand many things because he knew too little.
The transfer at Westminster Abbey wasn't because of an excess of similar-level bodies as Hart said.
There was another reason. As one of Britain's famous abbeys, many British celebrities and powerful relics were buried there.
These weren't just to prevent necromancers from stealing powerful bodies to create undead.
They used the residual power of these strong individuals to suppress some anomalies or uncontrollable strange objects.
Recently, an anomaly they were suppressing suddenly increased in level and changed attributes.
Their suppression method became ineffective, and Westminster Abbey had to replace some relics and bones with those of magical or more powerful individuals.
But the Abbey's defense team received information that this anomaly was something a hidden cult in Victoria City wanted.
They planned to attack Westminster Abbey during the transfer to steal this item, considered a divine artifact by them.
They had been lurking around the Abbey, waiting for an opportunity.
The defense team knew this but couldn't identify the cultists, so they stationed people around the square to monitor visitors.
That's why Gu Xi was spotted by a paladin immediately.
Gu Xi was attacked by cultists by accident.
Because Hart sent him to the square's edge, many noticed him, and one cultist recognized him.
Gu Xi had been a sacrificial prisoner in the cult's underground dungeon.
He had a unique cultist mark on him.
Seeing Gu Xi brazenly appearing here, the cultists couldn't stand it. They wanted to secretly take him away and at least find out how he escaped.
But the cultists overestimated their strength.
Just grabbing Gu Xi's arms got them killed instantly.
The system's notification alarmed the lurking cultists, who thought their ambush had been discovered, so they immediately acted.
What was once a peaceful alley turned chaotic.
Seeing this, Gu Xi quickly threw the two bodies out.
The cultists charging at Gu Xi were knocked back by the bodies, and Gu Xi pointed at one body.
"Bone Shield!"

With Gu Xi's spell, one body exploded, forming a grayish-white bone shield around him.
Gu Xi then pulled out his bone staff and eerie skull, leaning against the wall, watching everyone.
Gu Xi wasn't sure who among them was good or bad.
His only thought was to protect himself and not get involved in the current situation.
