Chapter 185: Crushing Tactics of the Ghosts
Half an hour later, the Ghost army reappeared in Gu Xi's sight.
Due to the previous two failures, the Ghost army no longer resorted to sneak attacks or other tricks.
This time, they planned to crush Gu Xi with sheer force.
With this in mind, the Ghosts didn't bring any fancy units, only proper combat troops, and in very large numbers.
Leading the charge was a rare sight: a cavalry unit.
The three hundred knights in the front were clad in glowing green armor, holding lances that resembled barber shop poles. They controlled the speed of their mounts carefully, not launching an immediate charge.
Behind them were attendants, swordsmen, and spearmen clad in purple robes.
These soldiers, aside from their messy purple hair and clownish faces, were otherwise indistinguishable from regular troops.
They wore chainmail and wielded powerful weapons.
Most notably, in front of both the knight unit and the attendant, swordsman, and spearman units, Gu Xi saw a battle flag.
The knight unit's flag depicted two colliding balloons, one red and one green, strikingly visible against the white background.
The other unit's flag depicted a flail, a spear, and a sword crossed over a shield.
These two flags clearly indicated one thing.
These were core units of the Ghosts.
These elite units, along with scattered Ghosts, amounted to roughly six thousand, exerting more pressure on Gu Xi than any previous encounter.
As the enemy forces advanced steadily, Gu Xi's expression hardened. He leapt onto the Evil Coffin and raised the Frost Staff.
"Raise the flag, all undead prepare for battle, Combat Squad 1, bring all spear-wielding undead to the front to face the cavalry charge.
Bone Camp, Combat Squad 2, prepare to flank and clear the rear troops, phantoms attack the main enemy forces.
Skeleton archers and skeleton mages, stay by my side and follow my commands, get moving."
Under Gu Xi's orders, the Ghost army advanced towards the Scourge Ritual Array.
As they prepared to charge, they encountered an unexpected situation.
Half an hour earlier, Gu Xi had blown up a castle here. Although he gained nothing and lost a training camp, it left a large crater on the ground.
