Alya couldn’t understand why her viewership is so much lower recently. It had been steadily dropping for months now, but that didn’t make sense to Alya. With Lila’s interviews, she should have the most traffic to her website she had ever had before. But those views never came. Lila just kept offering more interviews, to try and help her get her viewers back. “I am sure it is just a temporary lull. They will come back Alya.”

Weeks went by, but the views didn’t come back up. Instead, they just kept crashing. Then Alya learned where they went. She found out that Aurore had started her own blog, LadyBugOut. Alya didn’t pay it any mind at the moment. She never thought Aurore’s blog would take off and was sure that it would die out soon.

That was until LadyBugOut got more popular. The viewership for it just kept rising. Alya started to feel threatened and jealous and decided to speak with Aurore. So, she approached the weather girl one day after school. “Hey Aurore. Listen, I saw your blog is getting popular. Problem is, it is stealing my viewers from me. I was hoping that maybe you would consider taking it down, since my blog was up first.” Aurore stares at Alya incredulously. “I’m sorry Alya, but no. Its not my fault if people prefer my blog to yours. Maybe if you focused on facts and reporting the truth, instead of pretty stories, your viewers would stay on your blog.” Alya yelled at Aurore for ‘being rude’ and continued to demand the girl take down her blog. Eventually, Alya stormed off in a huff.

Lila decided it was time to step in and ‘help’ her friend. “I’m sorry Aurore wouldn’t take down her blog. That is not cool of her. If you want, we could mess with her a bit, maybe convince her to take down the blog.” Alya was definitely intrigued by the idea. “What do you have in mind?” Lila tries to hide her devious smirk, not wanting to ruin her carefully crafted image. “We could spread a rumor about her. Maybe that she is working with Hawkmoth and that is why she has so much insider information. That will get her to take down the blog.” Alya agreed, thrilled to be able to get some revenge on Aurore.

The two girls got to work. They posted the rumor on the Ladyblog, and the few people that still read Alya’s blog started to spread the rumor. Soon all of Paris had heard the rumor, though most people didn’t believe it. One day, Lila and Alya are called to Mr. Damocles office. In the office is Mr. Damocles, Aurore and her parents, the two girls’ families, Officer Roger, and a very stern looking woman that the two girls don’t recognize.

“Girls, do you know why I called you to my office?” Lila was getting nervous being in here, and was trying to think of a way out. “I called you both in here girls because of the rumor that you two started about Aurore. It is horrible of you to accuse her of something like that.” The stern woman speaks up at this point. “And it is slanderous. As such, my client and her family are suing the pair of you for the damage you have caused to Aurore’s reputation. There are some people in the city who actually believed your lie and are now harassing Aurore.”

As the meeting went on, the girls’ families were horrified by the actions of their daughters. Alya was immediately grounded indefinitely and was forced to delete her blog, since she had spread the horrible rumor from there. All of Lila’s lies also came out during this meeting and her mother was furious. Lila was expelled for all of the lies and her mother was shipping her back to Italy for a boarding school. Both of them were facing legal action. They were sued for the slander allegation and are now dealing with that in court as well. Their whole lives are in shambles. They never should have told that lie. All because Alya got jealous.
