Lila had spent all day at home. She had told the school that she was going on a volunteer mission abroad and wouldn’t be at school for a week. That week was up and now she was coming up with some wild stories to tell the class about her trip. She spent all day working on her lies, and how to cover her tracks if that pesky Marinette makes a fuss. Once Lila has memorized her stories and feels prepared for class, she heads to bed.

Lila is awoken in middle of the night by someone calling her name. She wakes up to see a woman in a dark cloak, hovering above her bed. Lila clutched her comforter closely to her, her voice quaking. “Who are you? What do you want?” The spectral figure points at Lila before speaking in a powerful voice, “Lila Rossi! I am here to show you what will happen if you continue down your path of deceit.”

Lila just rolled her eyes, thinking it was a weird dream. But her body began to float and into a strange light. She was standing on the streets of Paris, watching an older version of herself being chased down the street by her class. “What’s going on? Why are they chasing me?” The specter seemingly stopped time, freezing the scene in front of Lila. “Your class is furious with you. You promised them all these advantages and help in achieving their dreams. When you are unable to deliver and were revealed as a liar, this happens.” The specter unfreezes the scene, and the class catches up to the older Lila, and attacks her in a blind rage.

The specter summons the light again and brings Lila through it to another scene. This time, she is in her house, the older Lila being yelled at by her mother. “After everything comes to light, all the celebrities you lied about knowing sue you and by extension, your family. Your mother is furious. She ends up disowning you for this, and leaving you to fight all the legal battles on your own.” Lila grows enraged by what she sees. “Some mother she is, turning her back on her daughter just because things got tough. I’ll show her. I am sure that an akuma will be here soon and then she will be sorry.” The specter just sighs and summons the light again.

This time when the light clears, she is standing in Mr. Agreste’s office. This time, the older Lila is the one that is yelling. “Once you are revealed as a liar, Mr. Agreste cuts ties with you. See it is bad for his brand to be associated with a liar, especially one that has several, public, lawsuits against her. He terminates your modeling contract and you can’t find work anywhere else.” Once again, Lila is enraged. “How dare he!? With all I did to help him maintain control of Adrien!?” Before Lila can finish her tirade, she is pulled back into the light.

This time, she sees herself in handcuffs, being arrested by officer Roger. “What is happening?! Why am I being arrested?” “It wasn’t long after Hawkmoth was defeated that he revealed his partners. He revealed that you knowingly helped him in his endeavors. As a result, you are arrested and sent to prison for five years.” Lila stared in shock. This isn’t right. This shouldn’t happen.

The light appears once more and Lila sees her older self sitting in an alley. “After you get out of prison, you can find no work or any places that would rent to you. You end up living on the street, begging for money from passerby. This is how your life will go if you continue your deceitful ways.” Lila was terrified by what she saw. This shook her to her core. “This can’t be how it goes. I am not supposed to live this way. There has to be a way to fix this, I just have to think of a way out.” The specter brings Lila back to her room. “The only way your future can change is if you change your ways and be honest. Otherwise, this will be your future. Heed this warning or suffer this dark future.”

The specter left soon after that last warning and the sun began to rise soon after. Lila was sure of what she should do. She hurriedly got ready, and raced to the school. Once the class had all gathered, Lila went to the front of the classroom and revealed everything to the class. They were angry, but since there was still time for them to achieve their dreams, they weren’t as angry as they were in the vision.

Lila also admitted to everything to Mr. Damocles and accepted any punishment he decided to give her. She was suspended for several weeks and would have detention for weeks once she came back. She was upset, but understood. And even more importantly, when an akuma came because of her being upset, Lila avoided it.

Finally, Lila also told her mother everything. Her mother was furious! She was grounded for the foreseeable future, and her mother contemplated about sending her back to Italy so she could be watched closely by family. Lila wasn’t happy with her current situation. All of the punishments and the loss of her friends. But now she knew that this was the better option. She may be unhappy now, but she will be happier in the future. In that moment, Lila thanked the specter that showed her the future and made a commitment. She decided that she would never lie again. And she never did.
