Lasting for a long time or forever
Damian had just entered the manor after his first date with Marinette. He felt like he was floating. He had been on a few dates before but most of them Dick forced him to go on, “to meet new people”, he said, “ At least make some friends, Dames”. However, this date was noteworthy since Damian had asked the girl out himself.
He had met the girl with the most gorgeous blue eyes when he had gone out to stock up some of his art supplies. She was standing outside the door of the craft shop he liked and looked like she was debating on whether she should give the shop a chance. When she saw Damian about to enter she approached him and inquired about the shop. She explained her immediate need for some material for a commission . She expressed her concerns on the quality of materials being sold. Both young adults entered the shop together after Damian clarified her doubts. Marinette offered to buy him a coffee after the both of them bought the things they needed.
They chatted as they got their things. Damian, with a sudden surge of confidence, decided to ask out the pretty girl. Marinette seemed a little surprised at first, but soon gave him a bright smile. They exchanged numbers before they parted ways and decided to have their date over the coming weekend .
Which is where he was coming from now. They went to the zoo and ate ice cream afterwards. They agreed for a second date the following weekend, details would be settled via text through the week. They had already decided they would be going to a library with coffee after.
Damian ignored all the questions his family asked about where he went with his date and how it went . He was in dream land.
As he sat on his bed he hoped his feelings towards the blue-eyed beauty he met would stay the same forever. Though he knew, the longer he knew her the deeper his feelings would grow. He never wanted to get rid of them.
Throughout his childhood his mother had forced him to believe "love is a mistake" and that he should never fall for such a shallow trap but in that moment Damian knew his mother was wrong. Love felt good. Marinette's love specifically felt like being covered in a safety blanket, completely secure. The feeling he had felt right to him and he wanted it to be ageless.
