Chapter 44: The Truth

Betsy P.O.V

Today Parisa and I were going to get Lauren to take the test to see if Charlie really is the father of her baby. We had to wait until she was at least 3 months pregnant and it's been just over a month since we found out so it's roughly the right time. As we reached the hospital I froze.

"Hey," Parisa said softly as she grabbed my hand, "everything is gonna be okay." I nodded and walked in putting on a brave face. When we got in Lauren was already there and I had the overwhelming urge to slap her again, but I stopped myself. Parisa and I sat opposite her in the waiting room in complete silence. Then finally her name was called. Parisa went in with her while I waited alone. I seemed to be sat there forever and I started panicking. Not because I was alone but because I was so nervous. I decided to go outside for fresh air. I remembered the doctor had said they would be waiting for about an hour and the hour was nearly over but I couldn't face the truth. I ran.  As fast as I could in whatever direction was easiest. After a while I stopped because I was out of breath and I realised that it wasn't good for my baby so I sat on a near bench. I looked around to see if I could see anything familiar but there was nothing. I was lost. Great...

I must've sat in the same position for hours because I had 40 missed calls from the others and about 90 texts. I didn't want to speak to them though. What if the love of my life did cheat on me? What if he is the father of Lauren's baby? I don't think I could deal with it if he is...

It finally went dark and I decided that now was the right time to find a way back. I went to the bus stop and waited. Eventually the right bus came and I got back to town. I slowly began to walk home through the dark streets. I was turned onto my street when suddenly someone tapped my shoulder. I turned and was faced with a worried Parisa.

"Where the hell have you been?" she half yelled.

"I....I'm sorry..." I said as tears began to spill from my eyes.

Parisa P.O.V

I hated seeing BB cry. I pulled her into a hug while she cried.

"We've been out looking for you for hours." I said softly.

"We?" she asked. Just then Mikey and Charlie ran around the corner and joined in our hug.

"We were so worried, Bets." Mikey soothed.

"We thought something had happened to you." Charlie added.

"Sorry guys," Betsy said quietly, "I just needed to clear my head." The four of us nodded at each other and walked home. When we got in we all went to the living room and I made them sit down.

"I have the truth." I said as I pulled a piece of paper out of my bag. Betsy knew what it was and was about to get up but Mikey grabbed her hand and gave her a reassuring look.

"I'm not sure I wanna know..." Betsy mumbled.

"Well you're going to know so stay there." I said soothingly, "Charlie, we made Lauren take the test."

"I know, but I'm telling you, I didn't sleep with her." he said.

"I believe you Chuggs," I smiled, "Bets, Lauren was lying Charlie isn't the dad." I grinned as I handed her the piece of paper. She read the letter and smiled. It's the first time I've seen her smile all week.

"So, the truth's out. Charlie has always been faithful." Mikey smirked as Betsy and Charlie hugged.

This family is finally getting back on track.

Finally.

Sorry it's been a while since I updated and I'm sorry I didn't update last week like I said but I had some personal issues and then I didn't know what to write but I'm back now and hopefully weekly updates will be a thing now.
