CHAPTER 5

Arizona walked into his office without knocking. Ivy turned and saw a damsel. Her hair was dyed black and she was wearing a black mini shirt and wore a white t-shirt. Her white skin glowed and her face felt like babies skin. Her skin was extremely fresh and she obviously looked rich. She wore a black heels that made her seem tall.

Ivy hair was still stuck to his wallet. He was trying so hard to remove it but it only made things worse. Darien was so scared that his childhood friend is here, she had had a crush on him since their childhood. She always got on Darien nerves and she made him feel like he owed her his life. She always demanded for what was not right which was so frustrating for Darien. She got jealous of every single girl that approached Darien which made Darien to be short of friends. No one wanted to mess with her In their university days.

Now that Arizona saw both their position she was really going to escalate matters, he really wasn't ready for her madness. He remained friends with only because of his father. His father only cares about business nothing else.

Arizona father was part of the highest shareholders of the company and he was also the company sponsor. His father asked Darien to befriend Arizona, as always Darien did his father's wish and forced himself to be friends with her but she was just too possessive about him. It was so annoying. Darien and Arizona were the same age but Darien was older than her with months.

He was so happy 2years ago when she said she was traveling abroad for some business. When she said it he drank till he got drunk which was rare for Darien to do. He was too busy with work he didn't have time to party or go to club. But now that she had return, everywhere and the atmosphere would become bad again and especially seeing the two of them in this situation.

Arizona widened her eyes and as expected she overeacted like Darien had said. She walked towards them with a frowned face. She glared at Ivy which made Darien sigh and shook his head. Ivy was confused at what was going on. She kept wondering who the girl was and why Darien felt so insecure beside her.

She grabbed Ivy's hair and dragged it out from his watch forcefully. Ivy screamed in pain. "This bitch just tore her hair!" She thought.

Ivy stared at the pieces of her hair in Darien bracelet. She couldn't even cry because she knew she was also at fault.

Arizona started breathing in and out loudly. She stared at Darien and looked very furious. Darien put his face to the ground and he used his hand to cover his forehead. Arizona embarrassed herself and also him anywhere she was.

Ivy knew the situation wasn't in her hand. Before more strands of hair are being pulled out she better leave. Ivy stared at Arizona and both their eyes were cursing each other for different reason. Ivy removed her gaze from Arizona's and she walked out of the door quietly.

Darien couldn't stop himself from shaking his head. She could have proved him wrong but no she did exactly as he had predicted. He sighed deeply and stared at her.

"What are you doing here?" He sounded formal and calm.

"What do you mean?" She raised a brow at him, "this is where my friend works and he has been crowned the next CEO of DDC and you expect me not to be here even after missing his coronation."

Darien rolled his eyes and turned to his back and placed his left hand on his head.

"Kindly leave." He said In a very rude tone that even a maid would have gotten offended.

Ivy went to meet Emily and she noticed that everyone stop working and they were staring at Darien office and were trying to listen to his conversation. Ivy was confused, why was everywhere silent just because of that girl.

She frowned and face Emily. "What's happening?" She squeezed her face and was very curious to know what was going on.

Emily faced her and smiled. "You know nothing." Emily sounded like a detective, "that woman is Arizona also known as the venomous snake."

Emily was speaking parables to Ivy and was only getting her to be more curious to know why she was known as a venomous snake.

"What do you mean?" Ivy said calmly and shifted to Emily sit while others were trying to hear what was happening.

"Arizona has been Darien best friend since they were small and she is extremely obsessed with him, her dream is to marry him and she can do anything for it, probably kill someone." Emily said that statement slowly and sounded deadly.

"Really?" Emily nodded.

"That's not all my friend," Emily faced Ivy and they were facing opposite each other, "the only problem is that Darien has no interest in her but nobody knows why he still keeps her as his friend."

Ivy widened her eyes, she was really enjoying this gist and it made her have goosebumps.

"Well probably because her father is their sponsor so he's just keeping her for business. What matters to the Maccurly family was money and how to become richer." She concluded.

The thought came to Ivy mind and she realized why he said time waste is money waste. Things were becoming more clear to Ivy.

A woman barged into the staff office and seemed to be in her middle forties. Her hair was packed in a bun and she wore a kneel white gown with a black jacket and carried an expensive Gucci bag with a black heels. Immediately she arrived everybody started acting busy even Emily and everyone were frowning at the woman. This only made Ivy become confused.

It seemed like the woman was their boss which made everyone react like that. She shifted very close to Emily and Emily knew she was confused.

"Her name is Chinaza Obinigwe?"

"Chinaza?" Ivy was confused she had never heard a name like that.

"Yes, she's from Nigeria a country in Africa."

"Wow!" This work place had a lot of mistery.

"She is Arizona secretary." Emily scoffed and frowned a little, "Arizona as a really high prestige here at work which made this woman here to think highly of herself. This woman has worked for Arizona since she was little and she is the oldest employee of this company, for more than 20years."

"Wow." All this drama was really making Ivy go crazy.

"As his secretary you really have to be careful of her, she's a witch! She can get jealous of you and get you off your work." Emily put a worried face to Ivy.

Ivy turned and remembered how Arizona saw her and Darien. Oh no she was in trouble with a venomous snake.

Arizona walked out of Darien office and she seemed to look very furious. She walked slowly and finally her gaze met Ivy. Ivy diaphragm went up and her heart started to beat faster than usual. Arizona started to walk to her and she was looking very scary. Ivy has found herself a new enemy.
