THE BILLIONAIRE'S CHOICE

CHAPTER 6

Ivy kept wondering why this snake was moving closer to her. What did she want to do? What was going on in her mind?

Ivy told herself that if this girl should try to hurt her in anyway, she would not allow it even though she lose her job.

Arizona finally reached Ivy and they were now facing opposite each other. Ivy could feel Arizona heart beating and pumping anger not blood.

"You're his secretary right?" Arizona voice sounded like those evil people in movies and she even looked like one.

Ivy felt a little relief but she knew she was still in the danger zone. Ivy forced a smile and nodded her head. She wasn't able to forgive her for cutting her hair. Ivy mind was telling her to make braids and not leave her hair but she didn't listen to herself and now this bitch here cut her hair.

"Good. Be very careful." She sounded scary and it felt like she was threatening her. Arizona glared at her like she was going to murder her as soon as she left this office.

"Ma'am you have a meeting with the man from Dubai." Chinaza said which prevented ivy from Arizona wrath.

To Ivy surprise Chinaza had an American accent, well she had stayed in America for years and was already a citizen.

Arizona released a deep breath and walked out of the staff room. Chinaza followed her at her back and they got into the elevator. Arizona had a straight face and felt like destroying that girl.

"Find out who that girl is and make sure you fire her from her job soon." Arizona spoke formally.

"Yes ma'am."

The elevator opened and they left the company.

Ivy was so happy that her secretary came at the right time. She smiled and went to his office. She was smiling but he looked very annoyed. She guessed that Emily was right, he definitely wasn't interested in her.

She ignored him and went to her office peacefully. She sat on her comfortable chair and wiggled it around since it was a 360 office chair. While she was enjoying herself, her phone alarm rang. She felt to lazy to check but she managed to see it. She had set an alarm schedule for Darien daily activities and in the next 30 minutes he was having a meeting. Ivy groaned and grumbled. She had to stand up and tell him this. It was really stressful for her.

She stood and went outside and walked towards his chair.

"Sir you have a meeting with other board members in the next 30 minutes." Ivy spoke extremely formal and it felt like she was a rich business woman from those movies.

"Oh ok, we would leave in the next 10 minutes." He replied her formally and he continued doing whatever he was doing on his laptop.

"We? Did he just say we." The thought flew through her mind but she couldn't say anything, he was her boss after all and she's his secretary.

They both arrived at the board meeting but they were 5 minutes earlier. Most people had not arrive. Darien sat at the left side of rectangle table at their middle. It had sits at both the left and right and of course it had a middle sit where the chairperson was going to be sited. Darien was staying at the first chair at the left side which was close to his father and Ivy was standing beside him like his slave.

Minutes had passed and everyone were present. Arizona father, Drake and his wife and other members. Ivy was standing like a helpless person and was seeing new faces and everybody were dressed formally. They were all wearing suit and they all looked expensive.

"Shall we start." Williams voice echoed in the silent room and everyone nodded.

"A one billion dollars project has been proposed by the new CEO of DDC which is Mr Darien," one of the board members said and Ivy was scared at the mention of one billion dollars, money she needed to feed all her generations. "He has proposed it but it is unacceptable to most of the board members present here."

Darien looked at the man and was wondering why this man didn't understand business tactics. He was wondering who put him in his position.

"Why is it unacceptable?" Darien spoke in a formal and rude tone which made everyone quiet. "If we do this our business will expand and there would be lots of gain."

"Yes I know." The man was already getting scared, "our business has expanded enough, our company is known everywhere abroad, what we need to think about is how to gain more money. Like the chairperson always say, money matters the most in business.

Darien had already understood what was happening, it must have been done by Drake. And this man here quoted his father motto, now his father was going to agree to this stupid man decision which was not making any sense.

"What you're sayi_" Darien was trying to talk with a cool head but his father stopped him from talking.

"You won't say anything Darien and most importantly Mr Jones is correct, money matters in business." His father completely embarrassed him in front of this people and also in front of his new secretary.

Why Darien did this, he didn't understand. Why did he keep trying to make decisions that he knows he has no final say to it. He only had title of CEO but he couldn't impose any decision. Darien placed his hands under the table and squeezed them hard.

Ivy saw him and was wondering why he couldn't have disagree with his father.

"We would continue this meeting later. I have other things to do than this." Williams said and he walked away like those rich billionaire.

Everybody left as soon as he left. Ivy and Darien were in the room alone and Darien couldn't stop thinking about how stupid he was.

He stood and his eyes met Ivy and it all felt awkward for the two of them.

"Let's go back to work, we have a lot to do." He said in a sad tone which made Ivy feel bad for him.

He smiled at her and they left the place. They were waiting for their car to come but it seemed something happened on the road. Ivy noticed a cafe shop and she really wanted to calm him down. They both decided to wait for the driver at the shop.

They were sitting opposite each other and there was an awkward silence between them. Ivy went to collect their orders and she came back with two small bowls of ice cream. She handed one to him but his face looked expressionless. She was taking her ice cream but he didn't even have a bite.

"When I worry about anything, I cool myself with ice cream." Ivy said with a calm voice which made him look at her.

He looked at her and didn't know what to do. He didn't want to ignore her kind gesture so he just took a bite from it. His mind cooled down and it felt like all his worries were all gone. He took another bite and it seemed like this girl was right.

"You might not have liked you father's decision but he surely wants what's best for you." Ivy was really trying to convince him.

She was trying to help him but she doesn't know anything about his father, if she did she won't say he wants what is best for him.

"In this type of situation alway smile." Ivy smiled for him and it made his heart melt.

Her smile made him forget all his worries and he only wanted to see her beautiful smile.

"Thank you." He said it like he really meant it and he looked into her eyes and smiled.

Ivy saw him smile for the first time and he looked more handsome. The both of them were smiling until the venomous snake arrived, it was Arizona. She stayed at their middle and she frowned her beautiful face.
