CHAPTER 30

Arizona was filled with joy and she couldn't help but visit Darien. She was standing in front of the company, she was holding a small bag, she had bought him a watch that he could probably wear for the wedding. She wore a smile and she entered the company.

She entered the company like she was the owner. She stepped in with those balck heels that went with her short black gown. She went to the salon to get her hair done, she dyed her hair black and she curled it.

She entered the elevator and she pressed 56. The elevator started moving and it was taking years to reach there. After minutes of waiting, the elevator opened. She smiled and she entered the staff room. Everywhere became silent and everyone made sure they didn't look at her. She instilled fear in them and she hated participating with them.

She ignored them and she wanted to open the door without knocking. She stopped and her hands were at the door handle. She knocked the door instead. It was the first time she did it and it felt nice, she wanted to become a better person to Darien.

"Come in." Darien voice made her heart beat faster than usual. It felt like when she was in high school, she waited everyday at their school gate to hear Darien voice and face.

She smiled and she opened the door slowly. She opened it and she saw Darien. She smiled even more and she entered completely. Her smiled turned into a frown, she saw the person that made her life miserable, it was Ivy.

Darien was just thinking about how to stop their wedding from happening and she had to appear right in front of him.

"You knocked." His voice echoed in her eyes.

She forced a smiled and she walked towards him. She sat opposite him and she dropped the gift on his table. She crossed her legs together and she glared at him.

"Hey baby, I bought you something." She winked at him.

He frowned at her and he knew why she was doing like this. She was trying to make him angry and rub it in Ivy's face.

"Please leave before I cause a ruckus." Darien sounded daring.

"I am basically your girlfriend and I have every right to call you baby." She smiled widely at him.

Ivy was feeling very uncomfortable and she really hated the site of Arizona. She hated girls that were shameless like her, girls that forced themselves on men.

"Out!" Darien screamed and he stood, banging his hands on the table. He was panting and he frowned at Arizona.

Arizona removed her crossed legs and she stared at Darien. She felt like crying but she held them back. She stood and she went away from her sit. She passed Ivy and she glared at her, she walked closer to Darien and she was very close to him. She bought her face closer to his, she closed her eyes and she moved his lips closer to his right cheek.

Ivy squeezed her hands and she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Arizona was almost pecking Darien, but he sat back, making her to peck the air.

She opened her eyes and she was shocked to see Darien on his chair. Ivy gave out a small laughter. Arizona glared at her and she went out of the office embarrassed.

Philip entered Drake and Lilly's mansion. Drake welcomed him and they made him sit on their couch. He bowed his head and he sat opposite them.

"Have you found anything about the girl? Or how we can get the secret fund?" Drake was so eager.

Philip placed pictures on the table and he placed some files on the table. Drake grabbed the pictures and he analyzed the file. The pictures were that of Ivy's and Darien together, while some were some pictures of a man.

"Who's this?" He faced the picture of the man to Phillip.

"These are pictures of Ivy's dad and the man who only knew where the secret fund was." Philip answered him.

"What happened to him?" Drake was already getting confused.

"He died in an unexpected death, nobody wanted him die. Williams needed him for the secret fund. The fund is worth billions of dollars and it as the access to sell DDC company to anyone who owns it." Philip explained.

"Who has it now?" Drake was so curious and adamant about it.

"Nobody knows yet but it is really connected to Ivy."

"Go back and make your finding about it." Drake commanded and he left his sight.

Ivy came out outside the company. It was time for her to go home and it was already getting late. She walked and she was looking for cab.

"Ivy." A deep male voice called her from back.

She turned and she saw Darien. She smiled a little and he walked closer to her.

"I want to go for a walk, would you like to follow me?" He gave her a small smile.

She wasn't planning on going home now but she didn't want to walk now.

"Okay." She said it softly.

He smiled and they started walking side by side. They didn't talk to each other but their bodies were touching each other. They walked for minutes before he paused. She was still moving until she noticed he wasn't at her side. She turned and she saw him, she walked closer to him and stayed opposite him.

"I want you to know this." He sounded serious and his expression changed. "I actually used taking a walk as an excuse. I want to talk to you."

Ivy heart raced and she didn't know what he was going to say, but it felt like a love confession. She gulped and she wore a serious face.

"I want you to know that you are a very special person and you hold an important place in my life." Ivy's heart raced even faster. "If I wasn't getting married to Arizona, you probably would have been my girlfriend."

Tears rolled from Ivy's eyes, she has gotten herself attached to this man and she couldn't bare to see him with another person. They had never started dating but there was a great connection between them.

"I'm sorry." He cleaned her cheeks, "when you said you like me, I was so happy and I really considered in heart but it's just not meant to be."

"What do you mean." Tears rolled from her eyes again.

"I like you too Ivy." Darien smiled and he cleaned her eyes. "I promise I will try my best to be with you, but for now, I instill hopes in you. I just wanted you to know."

Darien smiled and he walked pass her. Ivy fell to the ground and she couldn't stop crying.
