Darien and ivy sat opposite each other in the restaurant. The restaurant was empty, nobody was inside and the waiters were very fancy and the place seemed like an expensive place and Darien probably booked it privately.
"Um_mm," Darien felt awkward bringing her here and kept wondering how she felt. "Like you said before, when you want to cool yourself, you always eat ice cream."
Ivy looked at him and was obviously confused. What was he saying? And how is related to how she's feeling?
"What I'm t_r_ying to say is that." Darien was stammering and he wasn't making sense.
He exhaled deeply and continued talking, "when I feel bad about something and I want to cool myself, I always eat chicken."
Ivy raised a brow and kept wondering why he was being nice to her and not acting like he always did. Ivy smiled at him, she didn't want to make him feel that he was sounding stupid.
Darien clapped his hands and the waiter came with a plate which was full with pieces of chicken. The waiter dropped it on the table and left. Ivy looked at the chicken and looked at him.
"What will I do with this amount of chicken?" Ivy chuckled and she started laughing.
She kept laughing and it felt she was moving in slow motion. Darien was watching her laugh and it made him feel happy seeing her smile. He didn't understand what he was feeling but after a long time someone made him happy.
"I had booked this place before, I thought I would eat here alone after I come back from work but eating with you is much better." Darien sounded sad but yet he was filled with joy.
"Why can't you eat with your family?" Ivy asked and she started to eat the chicken.
Darien gave a sarcastic laugh. "Family?" He gave the same laugh.
Ivy didn't understand what he did and she didn't want to dig into his personal life. She continued eating and she liked how they were getting along. Ivy had completely forgotten about the situation with her and Arizona.
"I want to apologize to you on behalf of my friend Arizona." Darien didn't look at Ivy and he seemed calm.
Ivy was touched by his words. This was the first time she saw him acting like this. She dropped her chicken and looked at him.
"Mr Darien you don't have to apologize to me," she sounded friendly like they were close friends. "I really appreciate that you're caring, but you're embarrassing me by apologizing."
Darien finally looked at her and had a warm and happy feeling. He like the way he was feeling. She made him feel something he had never felt to anyone else.
Before Ivy could do say anything, she got a call. She picked the call and she knew they had to go.
Darien read her expression and he knew he had to go to work. He sighed and he wished this moment should never end. They stood and left the place.
*****
Darien parked his car and came out of it. He checked his phone and the time was 11pm in the night. He walked into the club and was still wearing his usual suit and he didn't look like he was going to club. It was true though, he was going to club but only to visit his only best friend he truly had. He was going to meet Jack. Jack was working at the bar place as a bar man and served drinks to people. Jack was a lawyer but he was involved in a scandal 2years ago, he was suspended for two and half years. It remained 6 more months and he could finally quit this job he was doing. Jack was the same age with Darien but Jack was married and he had two children. He always teased Darien and always asked when he was going to get married.Darien entered the club and he went straight to the ye bar place where Jack was. He sat on the chair and asked for a bottle of beer.
"You're here." Jack smiled and gave him the bottle of beer.
Darien opened it and gushed it into his mouth.
"It's rare for you to drink like this. What's going on?" Jack sat and he stayed opposite him.
"My biggest problem is best." Darien answered and it felt like he was going to cry.
"Oh my." Jack said softly and moved closer to him, "the witch is back."
Jack knew who the biggest problem in his life was. It was none other than Arizona. They all went to the same school and he hated Arizona. He and Darien were known to be the most handsome boys in their set and everyone wanted to die for them. Arizona was different, she never found Jack attractive but was only obsessed with Darien. It made him hate Arizona.
"I feel bad for you." Darien took the beer and gushed it into mouth again.
"May we have two beer please." A similar feminine voice rang to Darien ears and he knew who owned that voice.
He turned to the right were the voice was coming from. He was correct it was none other who he guessed, it was Ivy. Ivy turned to her left and saw her boss staring at her like he just saw a ghost. She also widened her eyes and was really shocked to see him.
"Ivy?" Darien said her name with surprise.
Ivy bowed her a little and smiled at him. She was looking beautiful, she wore a black designer top and wore a black mini shirt that was few inches from her butt. She a black designer boots and it seemed like she just made her hair. She packed her braided hair in a bun and left two at the front. She wore slight makeup like her usual makeup.
Darien couldn't stop himself from staring at how beautiful God created her and how she was specially created. He kept staring at her and was really admiring he beauty. She stared at him and gave a warm smile that completely warmed his heart and made him forget about Arizona.
Ivy turned and gave Emily the other beer. Darien kept staring and it made Ivy feel weird. Emily shifted to Ivy and was very close to her.
"This bar man is exceptionally handsome." Emily whispered into Ivy's ear.
Ivy glared at Emily and she felt like slapping her.
"Hey I'm Emily and I'm 29years." Emily stared at Jack and spoke formally.
Jack didn't know what to say but he didn't want to ignore her, "um, I'm 27 and I'm Jack."
"Woah don't worry I deal with young boys." Emily spoke to him and was already seducing him
"I'm married with two children." Jack stated and glared at Emily with disgust.
Ivy felt so embarrassed and she still noticed that Darien was staring at her and it only made matter worse.
"I'm so sorry for her behavior." Ivy bowed her head a little.
She wanted to take Emily away from there but Emily still seemed interested in staying. Emily removed Ivy's hand and she went to the dance floor. Ivy wasn't comfortable so she decided to go home.
"I'll go now." She spoke formally to Darien.
She smiled at both of them amd left the club without Emily. She went out of the club not because of Emily behavior but because she wasn't comfortable with the way Darien was looking at her.
Jack and Darien were left alone again and Jack kept smiling at him.
"You like her right."
"What?"
"From the way you were staring even the dumbest of people would know that you like her." Jack smiled him.
Darien really wanted to disagree but his friend wasn't going to listen so he chose to ignore.
"It's late, take her home." Jack suggested.
Darien taught about it and he saw her going alone. He ran with the speed of light and went outside. Jack smiled and was happy to see his friend behave this way.
Darien went outside and looked around. He was so lucky and he saw Ivy looking for taxi. For some reason he found himself happy.
"Will you let me take you home?" Ivy turned around and saw Darien.
