Today was the day of the much-anticipated event. As I prepared for the fashion show, my mind kept swirling with thoughts of what might transpire.

I had hardly slept last night, the memory of what I'd overheard playing on a loop in my head like a broken DVD.

It made sense that Faye would be friends with Nicole and other notable figures in the industry; she was well-known both domestically and internationally. It shouldn't have been a big deal to me. But what upset me was the girls' statements about seducing Faye.

I hated it when people talked about my artists in that way. What CEO in their right mind would allow their artist to be harassed? None, right?

'Really, huh?' my mind countered, betraying me once again.

Fine! I just didn't like the idea of someone trying to seduce her. Is that okay with you?

'Much better than 'the nile'(denial). We're not a river.' Oh, God.

I wanted to slap myself for my corny jokes. I was really losing it again.

I decided to focus on my makeup, pushing aside my worries. When I finished, I checked myself in the mirror. I wore a white tube top with long sleeves accenting the sides. Since the theme was beach-inspired, I had a white cover-up over a black lace swimsuit.

Satisfied with my look, I walked gracefully outside, heading toward the beachfront.

As I made my way to my seat, I started to attract attention. From afar, I saw Jane waving her hand and hopping like a kangaroo.

"God, Yoko, you're so hot!" Jane exclaimed, as usual.

I rolled my eyes at her, scanning the place. The beachfront was magnificently designed. There were monoblock chairs on one side of the runway, while the other side featured small cottages.

Light torches lined the carpeted sand, creating an enchanting ambiance. It was truly majestic; Nicole must be proud of arranging such a beautiful venue.
