Sherlock has only ever said I love you to two people. His father, who dismissed it as silly sentiment and a waste of time. And Mycroft. Mycroft's response was the only time Sherlock had ever been told that he was loved by anyone. It only happened once, but both men remember it clearly.

Mycroft did buy Sherlock's coat but didn't give it to him directly because he knew Sherlock would refuse because he was the one giving it, despite Sherlock's weakness for long coats that carried on from childhood. Instead he elaborately involve it in a case and set it up so that Sherlock would steal it and keep it as his own.

Sherlock can tell when sad people act happy and say they're fine, he just doesn't kmnow what to say to them so doesn't point it out to them.

After Sherlock jumped and Molly wiped the blood from his hair he cried. Sherlock Holmes cried for John Watson and hasn't cried since.

Jim found irony in the end to their final problem delicious, especially the things surrounding the boys  of Baker St. Sherlock and John's first case involved forced suicides. Sherlock was forced to jump, thus ending their last case. ST. Bart's was the first place they saw each other, as well as the last.

Mycroft and Sherlock have an older sister named Elizabeth, who's in the military/ John served under her, however, since she uses her married name, he never realized that his former commander was, in fact, Sherlock's sister. She died in the army. John was the doctor failing to save her. Sherlock knows, and he also knows that he will never tell John, because John, because John will never forgive himself for letting Sherlock's sister die.
